Say something I'm giving up on you.
(Connor's pov.)
"Let's go people! We got an ambulance on the way in." Maggie shouted.
I grabbed my stethoscope and put it around my neck running over to the ambulance.
"What do we got?" I asked.
I couldn't see the patients face but I saw a badge on their waste band. Please don't be y/n I said to myself.
"Female, white mid 30s. Gsw to the neck, and chest. We intubated in the field. It looks like the bullet hit an artery in the neck. we haven't been able to stop the bleeding." Gabby explained.
"Alright on my count."
"1,2,3." We lifted her up and I got a glimpse of who it was.
"Y/n?" tears stung my eyes.

I'll be the one, if you want me to
Anywhere, I would've followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

"Connor you need to leave you can't operate on family." Maggie said grabbing my shoulder.
"I'm not leaving her." I said.
"Connor go out to the waiting room or I'm calling security."
I nodded and walked out.

And I am feeling so small
It was over my head
I know nothing at all
And I will stumble and fall
I'm still learning to love
Just starting to crawl

I slumped down into the chair. I buried my head in my hands and started crying. I can't lose her. Not yet. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked over and saw Natalie. Natalie is y/n's best friend. I saw she had tears in her eyes as well.
"She's gonna be ok."
"How do you know?" I asked
"She's strong Connor. She's gonna be ok."

Say something, I'm giving up on you
I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
Anywhere, I would've followed you
Say something, I'm giving up on you

6 hours later Will came out to the waiting room. Natalie lifted her head up off my shoulder.
"How is she?" I asked.
"I'm sorry Connor we did everything we could. She's brain dead. She's on life support right now but she's not gonna make it through the night." After Will said those words my whole world went numb. I couldn't feel anything.
"Can I see her one last time?"
"Yeah come on."
I walked in and saw her hooked up to a million different tubes.
I walked over and gave her a kiss on the forehead.
"I love you so much y/n. And it's ok. You can go, I'm not mad. You were a great wife." I love you. Goodbye." I kissed her cheek one more time and let go of her hand.
And I will swallow my pride
You're the one that I love
And I'm saying goodbye
Say something, I'm giving up on you
And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
And anywhere, I would have followed you,
oh, oh Say something, I'm giving up on you

I walked back out to where Will was standing.
"Take her off life support now. Don't let her suffer."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. All her family is dead. I was all that was left. I said my goodbyes. She wouldn't want to be hooked up to a machine. Take her off life support."
"Ok."
Will walked into the room and unhooked her from the machines. I heard the machine beep one long time signaling her heart stopped.
She's gone and there's nothing I could do to save her.
Say something, I'm giving up on you
