I was finishing up my last consult of the day.
"So just take these medications for the next few days and you will be fine."
I said with a smile.
"Thank you Dr. Atwater."
"Of course, Mrs. Jameson."
I walked back out of the room.
"Cameron are you ok?" Natalie asked.
"Yeah why wouldn't I be?"
"Because there's blood running down your leg and on your shoes."
I looked down and sure enough there was blood on my shoe.
"No! No this can't be happening!"
"Cam are you ok?"
"No, I'm having a miscarriage." I said with tears in my eyes.
"Ok come on." She grabbed my arm and brought me to a room.
"Do you want me to call Adam?" Adam is my brother.
I shook my head no.
"Call my husband."
"Ok."
I sat in tears on the bed. Natalie gave me a gown and I got changed into it.
I saw my husband run through the door of the room followed by Natalie.
"Oh my god Cameron are you alright?" I shook my head no. He grabbed my hand.
"I was pregnant Kev. I had a miscarriage. I was gonna tell you tonight."
He rested his forehead on mine.
"Oh baby." I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Cameron how far along were you?"
"15 weeks."
"Ok your gonna have to deliver the baby."
I cried harder.

A couple hours later I was sitting in the hospital bed with Kevin by my side.
"I feel empty."
"What do you mean?" He asked looking up at me.
"I feel an emptiness in the pit of my stomach, I feel like it's my fault the baby died."
"It is not your fault Cameron."
Natalie came in.
"So your results came back and it looks like you have a hostile uterus, there's a very good chance you may never get pregnant again, and if you do it will be a miracle."
"See told you it's my fault."
"Cameron it is not your fault."
"I'm gonna leave you guys alone."
Natalie walked out of the room.
"Kevin do you believe in miracles?"
"I do."
"Can we keep trying?"
"Of course we can, and if that doesn't work we can always adopt."
"I love you Kev."
"I love you too, and for what it's worth you would have been a great mother."
"You would've been a great father."
