Many years had passed. Steven had moved out of the temple and started his own life elsewhere. The Crystal Gems had begun a journey around the planet to round up the remaining missing corrupted gems. Wulfenite, Lapis, Peridot and Bismuth were left to take care of Little Homeworld. "It feels... different." Wulfenite said. "It does. Not much has changed, but with Steven gone, everything feels different indeed." Lapis responded. The two of them were sitting in the car above the door to the barn. Today was an off day for them, so a bit of relaxation was certainly welcome. "I miss that little half gem already." Wulfenite said with a smile. "We can always visit him. We know where he is." "Nah, I think he has to do this by himself. After he turned into a giant monster, I think it's safe to assume he's gonna need some time alone. Not that it matters, he promised to come visit us someday." "Yeah, you're right." Lapis rested her head in Wulfenite's lap. Wulfenite began stroking his hand through her hair whilst slowly falling asleep. Out of nowhere, a portal opened next to the two gems. An eye came through and spotted Wulfenite. A hand followed and tried to pull Wulfenite with it, but the eye saw Lapis on his lap. The hand stretched all the way into the barn to grab a pillow. Another hand lifted up Wulfenite, while the other put a pillow under Lapis's head. With that done, Wulfenite got pulled through the portal, which shook him awake. "H-Hey! What's going on?!" "Calm down, it's just us." Epidote said. Wulfenite was transported to S3xl. "Sorry for abducting you!" Spinel said with a smile; "But it's urgent! Right, Epidote?" "You told her?" Wulfenite asked Epidote. "She's my girlfriend, of course I did. Besides, she promised to keep it a secret, right Spinel?" "Oh, of course!" Spinel said as she saluted Wulfenite. "I guess it's not a big deal..." Wulfenite said; "So what's up? Anything wrong with Project XIV?" "Well," Epidote gestured Wulfenite to follow her inside the lab; "She's stable, but she can emerge any moment. I suppose you don't want that?" Epidote asked. "Indeed I don't. She's to emerge when I vanish or fall in battle." Wulfenite murmured. Then, his eyes lit up. "Put her on ice. But first, did you finish that trinket I asked you to make?" "I did. Here you go." Epidote grabbed a device from the table. "Okay. Put the other one on her gemstone." Wulfenite said as he attached the device to his gemstone. It immediately camouflaged. "Heh, good work, for a traitor." Wulfenite said jokingly. Epidote rolled her eyes with a smile. "Okay, everything's set. Time to ice this baby." Wulfenite and Spinel looked on as Epidote put the gemstone in a cryogenic state. "I linked the thawing process with your device. As soon as you are, well, I'd say destroyed, she'll be unfrozen." "Say Wulfenite, why did you even want to make this baby thingy?" Spinel asked. "Didn't Epidote tell you?" Wulfenite was surprised. Spinel shook her head. "Well, don't tell the Crystal Gems, but Ultranite isn't captured. One day I noticed her missing in our lockup, so I panicked and replaced her with a plastic substitute I printed with this '3D printer' I think it's called? Looks identical. But of course, I couldn't beat Ultranite on my own, so I need something that can, might she one day return." "And you're telling us that now?!" Spinel screamed in anguish. She was right to be scared, is what Wulfenite thought. "There's no need to be afraid. With this, she will not reign supreme. Trust me." Wulfenite said confidently. "So, we need to keep an eye on her for the remainder of your life?" Epidote asked. "Yeah, I hope it isn't too much of an inconvenience." Wulfenite said. "Nah, I could never leave this place anyway. And now that I have Spinel, I won't have to either." Epidote said as she gave Spinel a kiss on the cheek. "Ehehe, that's right. We'll keep your project safe, Wulfie! You can count on us!" Spinel gave a thumbs up as her glove made a squeaking sound. "Thanks gals. I have to get back now. Goodbye!" Wulfenite said as he jumped up. He immediately fell face first on the floor, though. "Oh right. I was abducted and my abductors didn't bring my cape." Wulfenite said as he glanced a mean look to the two gems. "My bad. Hop on through." Epidote said as she summoned a portal.

Even more years had passed. Nothing much has changed since last time. The Crystal Gems had returned from their hunt. They believe to have captured and cured all of the remaining gems. The new gems had taken the position of the now graduated students, which meant that the gems had more teaching to do. "We pick Wulfenite!" A gem yelled. "No fair! You can't pick the teacher!" Another gem protested. "But Mr. Wulfenite promised he would play with us this time!" "I indeed did. But I am just the coach. Letting me play would be cheating." Wulfenite explained "Why? You told us your speed came from your cape! And since you're currently in your training outfit, you should be equal in speed to the rest of us!" "Yes, but I would only hit home runs." "If you hit the ball, that is." "Okay, fine. But I won't be on your team!" "What?! Why not?" "No one insults the teacher." "We do it all the time! I even saw you smile!" Wulfenite ignored the objection. "Okay, let's play!" He yelled. As the game progressed, Wulfenite realized he wasn't very good at hitting the ball. "Strike two!" Wulfenite took a deep breath and held the bat in front of him. "Come on, back in the day I used to break these things when hitting the ball." Wulfenite whispered to himself. The ball flew in his direction. Wulfenite opened his eyes, dropped the bat, summoned his staff and hit the ball high up. "Is that allowed?" A teammate questioned. "Run, teach! Run!" Another teammate yelled. Wulfenite started running around the bases. He noticed his speed was so slow compared to what he was used to. Right before he reached home base, the ball was caught from the air. "You're out, old timer!" The opposite team captain yelled. "Heh, oops?" Wulfenite said worried. "I can't believe we actually lost. We even had the legendary Wulfenite on our team!" "Sorry, team. Without my cape, I'm just incredibly strong, that's it." Wulfenite said in an attempt to apologize. "Anyway, class dismissed. Good game, everyone!" Wulfenite announced. The gems all left the field and headed to their next destination. Wulfenite grabbed his schedule. "Okay, so this was class 3C, so next up- Wait." Wulfenite noticed something was up. "Next up is class 3A, but they are on a field trip with Peridot. So that's it! I'm done for today." Wulfenite said. He put his schedule away and began walking back to the barn.
