Wulfenite: A Steven Universe Story

Chapter 31

Wulfenite flew a straight line. It was a long flight, because he flew at a slow speed. "I need to think of something to say to the gems that will shock them when they see me. They need to face fear itself." Wulfenite brainstormed for a while and when he finally thought of something good to say, he sped up and flew directly towards the earth. He arrived in a second and landed on a giant wall. It looked like there was no end to its length. Wulfenite looked around. He didn't know where he was. He hopped off the wall and followed it to the nearest city. After a while, he figured he'd just fly next to the wall, because walking took too long. After a while, Wulfenite came across a small town: "Maybe they sell maps around here." Wulfenite said to himself when he landed in a small town. He walked around looking for stores. Then, he found a man with a little stand. Wulfenite saw a big map of the earth hanging from the stand. He asked the man for the map, but the man didn't seem to understand him. Wulfenite pointed at a world map hanging. The man gave it to him and held his hand up. "Oh, I know what this means! Steven told me." Wulfenite thought. He high fived the man and flew off. "What a kind man, he didn't even ask for money. There are still good people out there, which is hard to believe." Wulfenite landed at a lake further on. "Time to figure out where I am." Wulfenite looked for a giant wall and a couple minutes later, he finally found out where he was. "Here's the wall, so I'm either in China or in Mongolia. This lake lies in China, so I'm definitely in China. Now, if I locate the wall again, I can find out which way beach city is, since the wall is going horizontally across the border at this point. Since I'm in China, I'll have to fly east to reach the USA. Then, I'll have to reach the northeast part of the country until I'm back in Delmarva, where I can locate beach city with relative ease. That's a plan!" Wulfenite rolled up his map and put it in his back pocket. He flew up to find the wall. He didn't stray far from it, so he found it in no time. "Ok, there lies Mongolia, so I'll have to fly right." And so, Wulfenite flew all the way back to Beach City. His first stop was the barn. He dove into the pool just outside the barn. The splash alerted Peridot and Lapis and they ran out to see what made that noise. Lapis used her powers to empty the pool and so they found Wulfenite falling out of the water bubble. "Oh my stars! You're back!!" Lapis ran to Wulfenite and gave him hugs and kisses until she was dried out. "Thanks to your arrow, I managed to find my way back to earth." Wulfenite told about his mini adventure in China. "So you stole a map?" Peridot asked. "It wasn't stealing, he didn't ask for money, he just reached his hand out for a high five. If he wanted money, he'd just ask for it." Peridot sighed: "Wulfenite, not all people speak the same language. A lot of people speak English, but in China, they don't. Didn't Steven tell you that?" Wulfenite slapped his forehead: "I should've known... if I ever see him again, I'll pay him double, even though I don't have any money." Wulfenite looked inside the barn. "Hey, why is there paint everywhere?" Wulfenite asked. Lapis giggled and said: "We made you a little something to celebrate your return, but we got in a little argument over the colors we wanted to use, so now it's all of them." Peridot grabbed the painting and gave it to Wulfenite. "Oh my stars!" Wulfenite's eyes lit up; "this is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! Thank you guys so much!" Wulfenite grabbed Peridot and Lapis and squeezed them against him. "Hey, no big deal." Lapis said.

"So how are you going to confront the gems?" Peridot asked. She, Wulfenite and Lapis just finished cleaning the barn. "I had this perfect idea of what I wanted to say, but it forgot, so I don't know yet," Wulfenite put away the mop; "I think I'm just going to warp in when they're all sitting in the living room. Steven has a phone, right? I'll just tell him to call your tablet and I'll warp to the house. Kinda like a surprise spawn." "That could work. Steven needs to get the gems in the living room at the same time, though." "I don't think that's hard. I mean, they got rid of me for his safety, so they've clearly proven that they love Steven a lot. They'll probably listen to him." Wulfenite said. He turned to lapis and asked: "Say, Lapis. Can you get the boy for me? We need to let him in on this plan. Lapis nodded and said; "Sure. I'll get Steven for you." She said and she flew off. "This is going to be good." Wulfenite said.
