Wulfenite: A Steven Universe Story

Chapter 24

Wulfenite woke up in a giant bed. There was ribbon everywhere. Lapis was lying next to him. "Woah, where am I?" He looked around for a while and suddenly, He remembered. "I'm back on Homeworld! Why?! How?! I don't want to be here!" Lapis woke up from all of the commotion. "Good morning, Wulfie. Why are you screaming so loud? Are you nervous for your mission tomorrow?" Wulfenite looked shocked at Lapis. "Oh my, you look terrible!" Lapis said to Wulfenite; "What's wrong? Did you have a night terror?" Wulfenite sat upright on the edge of the bed. He said: "I think so. I dreamt about a new beginning on another planet, with other friends and such." Lapis came to sit next to him: "That sounds wonderful. Can you tell me more about it?" Wulfenite began to calm down and told Lapis the story, but halfway through, she suddenly started laughing. "What a nice fantasy you have. It's another example of why I love you." Lapis gave Wulfenite a big kiss on his lips. "But it felt so real, you know. Like I was there... I want to go back." Lapis hugged Wulfenite: "I understand, but this is where we reside, Forever. Until we are driven to the edge of sanity." Wulfenite got startled. Lapis sounded very weird. "are you feeling okay, Lapis?" Lapis laughed very loud, louder, louder, louder. It didn't stop. "Lapis, stop!" Wulfenite covered his head holes and ran out of the room, but he tripped over a piece of ribbon.

"Gah!!" Wulfenite sat upright in his bed. Peridot already awake next to him.  He looked around. "I'm back at the barn! Great!" He jumped out of bed and yelled: "Good morning, everyone!" Lapis fell out of the hammock. "Good morning, Wulfie. Why are you so happy?" "I've had an terrible dream. We were back on Homeworld and you were laughing very loud. Still, you were pretty, like always. Even in nightmares." Lapis stood up and walked up to Wulfenite. "I'm glad it was a dream. I wouldn't want to go back to Homeworld even if I were to get Diamond status." Peridot yelled from the bed: "Are you sure? If you can decide what will happen to the galaxy, why wouldn't you?" Wulfenite agreed with Peridot: "It's true, we could rule over everything and spread peace all over the galaxy." Lapis said: "But I want to be together with you, then I'm sure I'll be safe. The rest of the galaxy can keep doing what they're doing, because if they mess with earth, they mess with us." Wulfenite blushed: "You're right, the galaxy needs to be balanced, even if it's at cost of some planets, because if they wouldn't fight, jealousy would get the better of them and more planets would suffer." Lapis nodded. Peridot threw a pillow at Wulfenite and yelled: "Hey! Get me down from here!" Wulfenite looked up and flew towards Peridot. "Sorry, I forgot you needed a lift." Wulfenite carried Peridot down from the bed. "Why did you think it'd be a good idea to put the bed up there?"  "Because I didn't think I'd need it, but then you came around with your whole sleeping obsesssion." Wulfenite chuckled. "I guess you're right. Anyway, I need to go to the temple. Pearl is waiting for me. I'm going on a mission. You guys can come too if you want." Peridot passed: "We are going to Steven later today. He wants to play something called a board game. Lapis is playing, too." Lapis nodded. "Okay then, I'll go alone. I'll be back somewhere tonight." Wulfenite gave Lapis a goodbye kiss and patted peridot on the head. "Until we meet again, soldiers!" He yelled jokingly as he flew off. "What an odd gem, but I kinda like that about him." Peridot said. "You're in for a treat if you think that's as odd as it gets." Lapis said with a smile.
