"But how? I mean, you are her son, but why'd you suggest you'd fuse with the diamond who sorta runs Homeworld?!" Peridot asked. "That's the thing: I didn't suggest it. Yellow Diamond suggested it herself." Wulfenite answered. Peridot's eyes opened wider than before: "That makes a lot more sense, but why?" Wulfenite answered: "I wasn't supposed to be able to fuse, because it would make me unstoppable, so we wanted to test if I were able to fuse." Pearl reacted: "Well, they'll be sorry now. You went rogue and you can fuse! They're at a disadvantage." "Don't underestimate them, though." Wulfenite said; "They have some pretty good tactics. Most of them come from me, but some are made by the Diamond authority, like shattering weaker gems who know about important things." Pearl nodded in understanding. Lapis hugged Wulfenite, saying: "You were brave back there. You did the right thing." Wulfenite wiped away his tears and wrapped his arms around Lapis: "I couldn't get you shattered, too. It needs to stop." "And it will," Garnet said; "we'll make sure of that." Wulfenite smiled and said: "Right. We're in this together and we will finish this. Together."

Wulfenite woke up. The sun was shining in his face. He tried to block it with his hand, but to no success. Peridot was lying next to him. They've made an agreement that Lapis and Wulfenite can stay in the barn together, if Peridot could stay sleeping with Wulfenite. They both agreed, Lapis was a little jealous, but she understood Peridot's fear. Wulfenite patted Peridot. "Wake up, Peri." He said gently. Peridot opened her eyes slowly. "Good morning." Wulfenite said. "Good morning." Peridot answered. Wulfenite lifted Peridot down and jumped down, too. Wulfenite looked around. He saw Lapis lying in a hammock, half asleep. Wulfenite had taught her the art sleeping back on Homeworld. "Good morning, Lapis." Wulfenite said to Lapis, who woke up instantly. "Good morning, Wulfie. That sleeping thing has grown on me since you told me about it. I even sleep when I'm just plain bored. It's a period of relief, like forgetting about everything for a while." "I knew you'd like it." Wulfenite answered chuckling; "I'm meeting the gems today. They told me they had a mission for me. Three to be exact. I'm going on a mission with one at a time. Steven can come on the mission with Amethyst, she suggested it herself." Wulfenite told Lapis and Peridot. "Sounds fun, when are the two of us going on a mission?" Lapis asked curiously. "Don't worry, Lappy, we're going on a mission too. I promise." Wulfenite checked the stance of the sun and said: "I have to leave, now. Tonight, I'll teach the two of you the art of battle. It'll be fun, I promise." Peridot's eyes lit up and Lapis got up: "Really? I can't wait! See you tonight!" Wulfenite waved and took off.
