Wulfenite: A Steven Universe Story

Prologue: Chapter 5

Wulfenite dive bombed into the kindergarten. He saw smoking gem injectors. "Looks like they sucked the wrong resources. Maybe some Adrenaline Flowers?" Wulfenite laughed at the idea. "Okay, time to get serious. My arm pad says that there are 112 Amethysts here. I can distinguish the rioters from the guards based on their hair. It says that the iron deposit here caused the curly hair of the rioters. Like the ones over there." Wulfenite closed the tablet and flew forward. He flew straight through a row of gems, poofing them all. "This isn't so hard! These gems have no experience. Makes you feel bad about doing this." Wulfenite said as he threw another Amethyst against the wall; "Well, if you don't want to get hurt, you should just behave." Suddenly, he heard a cry for help. He flew towards the sound and noticed a guard getting attacked by a group of Amethysts. "Hey! Stop that, you wrongdoers! Why are you doing this?!" Wulfenite asked angrily as he beat the Amethysts up. "You wouldn't understand. You haven't felt what we've felt!" An Amethyst said. Wulfenite summoned his staff and started spinning it around his body, making the Amethysts fall over. He jumped up, levitated and shot all of them. "Are you okay?" Wulfenite said as he helped the guard up. "Yeah, thanks. This riot is out of control! They've shattered one of us. I think the rest is still over there, at the end. Go quick! I'll take care of these gems." Wulfenite nodded and flew to the end. He smashed a couple Amethysts on his way there. Then, he flew up, did a backflip, flew back down and smashed his fist into the ground. The gems were stunned, giving Wulfenite the opportunity to shoot every single one. "Man, this cape is awesome!" Wulfenite said. After defeating the remaining rioters, Wulfenite helped the three stranded guards up and flew them to the first guard. "Thanks a lot, Wulfenite." "No problem." Wulfenite said as he dusted off his body; "Can I bring you gals somewhere? Back to your Diamond? To another authority?" "We'll manage. Thanks for the offer." A guard answered. Wulfenite saluted and flew all the way back to the Diamond room, leaving the guards behind.

Back at the Diamond Room, everyone was waiting for Wulfenite's return. They had already gotten messages back from the kindergarten stating that an orange gem wiped out all of the rioters. "As expected, our boy did well!" Pink said happily. "A little too well. He has only trained once. How is it possible?" Yellow Diamond stated. "Maybe he's a natural?" "It's the only explanation. I just hope he stays on our side. He will be hard to beat." "There's no reason for him to leave. I'm sure of it!" Suddenly, Blue Diamond stood up: "I'm not so sure of that. There are more protestors. They seem to be lead by a certain gem. A gem that came from your new colony, Pink." "What?! I'll shatter that useless gem! I'm heading right back to earth to go find that gem!" Yellow and Blue watched how Pink angrily walked out of the Diamond room to go back to earth. "I knew she wasn't ready. It's barely been a day and she's already running into problems." Yellow said. "Don't give up just yet. She can still stop this. Have a little faith in her." Blue said calmly as she put her hands on Yellow's shoulders. "Fine. I won't interfere. For now." The Diamonds sat back down. Then, Wulfenite walked in. "Heya! It went great! Those gems didn't stand a chance!" "We're glad you got back unharmed. Good job out there!" Blue said happily. "Well, it wasn't easy. It went great, but the fear in the eyes of those gems was frightening, even though they brought it upon themselves." "It's understandable, but just like you said: they brought this upon themselves. They knew the consequences they were going to face." Yellow said. "I guess you're right..." Wulfenite said. "Remember, the riots will not stop on their own. You'll be needed." "Don't worry, I'll protect our kind." Wulfenite said with a confinement smile. Yellow Diamond gave Wulfenite a head pat. "Hey, where's Pink mom?" Wulfenite asked. "Did you just call her- she is back on earth. Shall we pay her a visit?" Yellow asked. "R-Really?! Yeah! Let's go! Can we go with my ship?" "Your ship isn't done yet. It is almost finished, but it can't fly yet." "Oh right. Well, can I fly your ship?" "Fine, go ahead, but wait for me. I need to handle something first." "Okay! Be quick! I can't wait!" Wulfenite flew at high speed to the hangars to get the ship. "He's going to be great, but he's too carefree. We have to raise him." Yellow said to Blue. "Correct, and I have a feeling that it won't be pretty." Blue reacted.
