Wulfenite landed in front of the laboratory. "Okay Spinel, go in there and try your luck. I'll wait here." "Okay, this is it. Wish me luck." Spinel said as she entered the laboratory. "I'll be rooting for you!" Wulfenite whispered. He saw the doors closing behind Spinel. "I wonder how long it will take... I can't stay here too long. Maybe Lapis and Peridot will notice me missing and they'll lose it. Then again, what I'm doing is important. This means a lot to Spinel." Wulfenite leaned against the laboratory. He looked next to him and saw Homeworld in the distance. "I never thought I was ever going to be welcome there again. All those years I cursed the Diamonds. I can count myself extremely lucky for finding Steven. If it wasn't for him, I'd never be able to go back there ever again. I truly am grateful for all these friends and adventures. Even Lapis is happy here. She may be a bit gloomy, but I can't blame her. She's had it rough." Wulfenite eventually dozed off after being consumed by his thoughts.
"Just do it, he is basically indestructible. One hit won't hurt." Epidote said to Spinel. They stood outside next to the sleeping Wulfenite, who was leaning against the laboratory. "Okay, but don't tell him it was me. I owe him." Spinel readied her hand and flung it at top speed at Wulfenite. Before the hand came into contact with Wulfenite, he woke up. But he couldn't catch the hand in time. "Woah! What the heck? Why did you slap me?" Wulfenite said in shock. "Sorry! I just had to wake you up." Spinel said as Epidote laughed herself stupid behind her. "At least you two can find the humor in this... Anyway, are you two now... y'know..." "Yes we are!" Spinel and Epidote said together. Wulfenite struggled to contain his excitement. He simply couldn't believe it worked. "This is amazing! I'm so happy for you two!" Wulfenite said happily. Part of his excitement came from the fact that Lapis got a bit jealous of Spinel's relationship with Wulfenite. "If it wasn't for you, I'd still be living with those unresolved feelings, so thank you, Wulfie." Spinel giggled. "Believe me, Spinel. It is my pleasure. Now then," Wulfenite said as he swayed his hands next to his body; "what's next? Are you coming with us to live in Beach City? Or are you two planning on staying at my birthplace?" "I've decided to stay here with Epidote." "Really?" Epidote asked surprised. "Yeah of course! I love you, silly." Spinel said as she gave Epidote a kiss on the cheek. "Aw, isn't that precious? Well, I'll miss you." Wulfenite said as he gave Spinel a hug. "Take good care of each other, okay?" Wulfenite asked. Spinel and Epidote nodded. "I'll head back to the barn now. I'll come to visit soon! Bye!" Wulfenite exclaimed as he took off. Spinel and Epidote waved him goodbye. "Now then, about your promise..." Epidote said.
Wulfenite smashed through the roof of the barn and landed face down on the floor. "Careful!" He heard from the TV area. It seemed like Peridot and Lapis hadn't noticed Wulfenite's absence. Wulfenite slowly got up and put his hand on his temple. "That stupid moon..." Wulfenite said grumpy. He flew up and looked at the two gems, who were practically taped to the TV. "I'm going to bed! I'll catch you two tomorrow, yeah?" Wulfenite said. No response. "I'm gonna plant my foot in that screen one day..." Wulfenite said. He hung up his cape and went to sleep. He tossed and turned, trying to ignore the sound coming from the TV. Eventually, he got too tired to care and he fell asleep.
The next morning, Wulfenite woke up to a screaming voice coming from outside the barn. Wulfenite sat upright and focused on the sound. "Wulfenite? Lapis? Peridot? Wake up!" It sounded like Steven. Wulfenite looked to his left and saw Lapis and Peridot sleeping on the couch in the least charming way imaginable. "Honestly, those two... They're lucky I love them so much." Wulfenite jumped down and grabbed his cape. "I'm coming!" He yelled as he jogged to the door. He opened the door to find the Crystal Gems standing there, accompanied by the Diamonds. "Well, good morning, Wulfenite!" Yellow said. "Is today the day we fix the corrupted gems? I totally forgot that was today, sorry!" Wulfenite said with a sad tone. "Don't worry, it went great, even without your help." Steven said. "Heh, seems like you weren't that indispensable!" Amethyst said. "I'm surprised you know what that means." Wulfenite said jokingly. Amethyst stuck her tongue out. "So, what now?" Wulfenite asked. "These gems need a home, so we're going to build a little village just outside Beach City for them to reside. We've already made the plans, so you can help us build!" Pearl said as she put her hands together. "Yippie..." Wulfenite said as he rubbed his eyes. "Well now, I'm glad we could help today. We will leave everything in your hands. Goodbye." White Diamond said and the Diamonds mounted their ships and left earth. "You should wake up Peridot and Lapis." Garnet said to Wulfenite; "They could help you in building this village." "When did my life turn into a mobile game?" Wulfenite asked. Steven laughed: "Have you been playing on Peridot's tablet?" Wulfenite chuckled: "Busted! Okay, I'll get those two ready for action. What are you guys up to?" "We have asked Bismuth for help! She's an old friend of ours, who tried to kill me, but she's cool now. We've gotten her up to speed. She totally has to meet you, though." Steven explained. "I'm sure I'll meet her on the work floor." Wulfenite said. Garnet handed him a blueprint and a map: "This is your first project. The materials should be there, along with the necessary tools. Good luck." The gems left the barn. Wulfenite pocketed the map and blueprint and went back inside. He flew up to the TV and stomped the floor. Peridot and Lapis woke up in a heartbeat. The shock made them jump upright. "Good morning! I hope you two didn't pull an all nighter!" Wulfenite said with his hands on his hips. He threw the map and blueprint on the table in front of the TV. "This must be done today. Nothing like building a... building to get to know each other a bit better!" Wulfenite said. Lapis and Peridot looked at the map with droopy faces. "Hmm... okay." Peridot said half asleep. Wulfenite rushed away for a second and returned with a bucket filled with ice cold water. "Water from Antarctica. Bottoms up!" Wulfenite yelled as he splashed the gems with it. Both gems didn't respond to it. "Oh right. We don't feel temperature." Wulfenite grabbed both gems and flew high up. "Happy trails!" He said as he dropped both gems. Both gems started yelling as they fell down. Lapis summoned her wings and caught Peridot. All three gems landed outside the barn. "That oughta do it!" He said chuckling. Both gems looked angry. "I'm sorry! I just had to wake you two. This is what you get for pulling all nighters!" Wulfenite said with an apologetic tone. "I guess we're a bit addicted to Camp Pining Hearts..." Lapis said. "Maybe we are." Peridot admitted. "We'll cross that bridge later. Right now, Little Homeworld needs us!" Wulfenite yelled as he took both gems to the construction site.
