The sun was setting and the party was concluded. "Thanks for today, everyone!" Wulfenite announced. "Yes, it was a fun day." Lapis added. Everyone said their goodbyes and left the barn. "Right, now that that's settled, I have a busy day tomorrow. Wulfenite, if you could." Peridot said as she stuck her hands out. "Oh, of course." Wulfenite picked up Peridot and carried her to the bed. Lapis laid down in her hammock. "Goodnight, gals." Wulfenite said, but both gems had already fallen asleep. "Fair enough." Wulfenite said as he closed his eyes.

Out of nowhere, the barn doors exploded open with a boom. Wulfenite shot upright with Peridot clamped to his arm. Lapis jumped out of her hammock and saw none other than Cherry Quartz. "It's time for me to claim what's mine." She said. Wulfenite put Peridot in the bed and jumped down. "Cherry? What are you doing?" "Silence, my love. I'll make this swift." Cherry Quartz said as she shot a metallic collar at Wulfenite, which nailed him to the floor. "Ngh, what is this?" "You like it? I made it during robotics class. I'll take it off of you after I've dealt with your inferior girlfriend." Lapis stood on the opposite side of the barn with her wings summoned. Cherry Quartz grabbed a small dagger from her back pocket. "I have experience cutting with this knife, so this will be easy. I've also predicted every possible outcome and handled accordingly. After I'm done with you, I'll give Wulfenite my special serum which will guarantee his eternal love for me." "You are so full of it. This fight is in my favor. I've trained under Wulfenite." "So have I. I have what people call an eidetic memory. I know all of your and Wulfenite's moves." "We'll see about that." Suddenly, Peridot jumped from the bed and aimed for Cherry Quartz. "Stay away from my friends, you clod!" Cherry Quartz looked up and smacked Peridot against the wall. "Peridot!" Wulfenite yelled. "You're going to pay for that!" Lapis yelled as she charged at Cherry Quartz. Cherry Quartz laughed and sliced away at Lapis. "Watch out Lapis! One slice is enough to poof you!" Wulfenite yelled. "It didn't stop her, so it's not gonna stop me!" Lapis exclaimed. As the two of them clashed their weapons, Peridot crawled towards Wulfenite. "Peridot! Could you hack this open with your engineering skills?" Wulfenite asked. "I'll give it a try." Peridot said as she investigated the collar. Meanwhile, Cherry Quartz grabbed something from behind her back. "Take this!" She yelled as she threw it at Lapis. The device exploded and emitted a giant heat wave. Lapis's water weapons vaporized. "What?!" Lapis was in awe. "A solar grenade. Impressed yet?" Cherry Quartz said as she laughed maniacally. "Stars, she's really lost it." Wulfenite murmured. Peridot quickly grabbed her tablet. Cherry Quartz noticed her and hit the tablet with an EMP. "This is only the tip of the iceberg. Face it, I have won!" Cherry Quartz yelled. Lapis ran at her and slammed her fist in Cherry Quartz's face. Then, she sweeped her off balance with a leg sweep. "That's my girl!" Wulfenite yelled enthusiastically. Cherry Quartz gasped for air as she slowly stood up. She then turned her arm, summoned a taser from her sleeve and electrocuted Lapis. As Lapis was squirming about on the floor, Cherry Quartz grabbed the dagger once again and kneeled over Lapis's body. She turned her around, exposing her gem and readied her dagger. "It's over. Wulfenite and I were always destined to be together." "Stop!" Wulfenite yelled. "Don't kill her!" "My love, don't you see? She's in our way!" "...You're right. But that doesn't mean you have to kill her!" "Yes it does, dear! She will neve leave us alone if I don't end her right here right now!" "...What if I come willingly?" A silence fell. "Wulfenite! What are you saying?" Peridot yelled. Wulfenite closed his eyes and turned his head: "I'll come willingly, but you'll have to leave my friends and this planet alone. Sound good?" "Ha! How stupid do you think I am? As soon as I take that collar off of you, you'll just fly at me and end me!" Cherry Quartz said. "Then take my cape. That will take away my speed." Wulfenite said. "Y-Yes! Take his cape and leave us alone!" Peridot exclaimed. "Nice friends. She even wants you gone." Cherry Quartz scoffed. "Exactly. Nothing left here for me anyway. Take my cape and let us be off." Wulfenite said. Cherry Quartz buried her brow in thought. She holstered her dagger and walked up to Wulfenite. She took his cape and undid the collar. "I knew you would come to your senses. Don't worry. In a few years, you'll have forgotten all about this life." Cherry Quartz smiled as she took Wulfenite by the hand. "Now then, I've picked approximately three thousand planets we can live on in the immediate vicinity of Homeworld." "Wulfenite, please. Don't do this." Lapis muttered through the pain. "I'm sorry, but we all know this is the only way we all live." "Blah blah. How do we get out of here?" Cherry Quartz asked. "The cape works for everyone. Just put it on and believe you can fly." Wulfenite said as he looked down. Cherry Quartz hummed as she put on the cape and adjusted it. "Hold my hand, dear." She said as she forcefully grabbed Wulfenite's hand. As soon as she jumped to the door, she fell flat on her face. "Now!" Wulfenite yelled. Lapis mustered the power to lift her arms and a big water beam shot from below the floorboards and launched Cherry Quartz through the roof. Wulfenite ran to Lapis: "Oh stars, are you okay? Seeing you like this really made it hard for me to not run to aid you." "Don't worry. You said it yourself, I'm a strong gem." Lapis said as she slowly got back up with the help of Wulfenite and Peridot. Then, Cherry Quartz crashed back down on the floor, which poofed her. "Okay, she's down. Let's dispose of her." Wulfenite said as he bubbled the gemstone. "Bizarre." Wulfenite sighed; "The effect I have on some people..." "Really makes you think... Are we safe anywhere?" Lapis asked. "I guess it's all a part of being born into fame. If I could become a nobody, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Because there's no amount of fame that can make me as happy as you make me, Lappy." Wulfenite said with a smile. Lapis teared up and gave Wulfenite a hug: "I love you, Wulfie."
