Wulfenite woke up with Lapis on his chest. "Good morning, Lapis." Wulfenite whispered as he groomed Lapis's hair. "Hngh, good morning, Wulfie." Wulfenite lifted Lapis upright and rubbed his eyes. "Well, today is day one hundred and four on this rock." Wulfenite said. "Do you think we can name this rock?" Lapis asked. "Sure, why not? It doesn't exist on the map yet, so we can put it on the map. What did you have in mind?" Wulfenite asked. "Well, it has to be an amalgamation of our names, don't you think?" Lapis stated. "What, like Wulfenis?" "I was thinking more like: Lapenite." "Lapenite? That does sound quite good..." Wulfenite said. "Right?" Lapis said excited. Wulfenite summoned his staff and slammed into the floor: "We hereby declare this planet to be Lapenite!" Wulfenite announced. Lapis clapped her hands in excitement. Suddenly, a large shock went through the planet. "What was that? Did I hit it that hard?" Wulfenite wondered. Lapis held onto Wulfenite's arm: "Wulfie, it's still trembling." Wulfenite took Lapis outside. The cave collapsed and rocks barricaded the entrance. "Oh no!" Lapis said. "Don't worry, I can find it back. Super strength, remember?" Wulfenite said as he patted Lapis on her head. A big shadow engulfed the land. The gems looked up and saw a giant ship. "Wha-? Homeworld?" Wulfenite said. Lapis gasped at the sight of the ship. The ship extended a finger and pointed to the planet. It began charging a shot. A loud voice came from the ship. "Wulfenite! Turn yourself in, or we destroy this planet!" Wulfenite took on a menacing look. "How did they find us?" Lapis asked. Wulfenite thought hard about it. Suddenly, he realized it. The armpad. Wulfenite took off his armpad and threw it at the ship. The armpad broke and didn't even leave a dent. "Okay, plan B. Moving time." Wulfenite said. "I guess we have no choice..." Lapis said. She climbed up on Wulfenite's back and Wulfenite took off. The ship finished charging and shot at the planet, leaving only a quarter in tact. "Farewell, Lapenite." Lapis said.
Wulfenite neared the planet earth. He saw the planet and it's moon in the distance. He touched down on a moon like planet further on. Lapis jumped out his hands. She set her first steps on the planet. "So this is our new home?" "Yup. It's close to earth, so Homeworld won't go here. Besides, they have no way of tracking us." Wulfenite said. Lapis looked up at the starry sky, which was visible from planet. "I like it here! It's close to that star there, and the sky here consists out of so many stars!" Wulfenite had a smiling expression on his face. "I'm happy that you're happy." He said.
Five thousand years passed. Lapis and Wulfenite were flying around on the planet. Lapis bumped into Wulfenite. He grabbed her and gave her a kiss. "This is nice. No worries, no responsibilities. Just you and me." Lapis said. "You said it, Lappy." Wulfenite said. Lapis fell asleep in his arms. "Yeah, I should take a nap too." Wulfenite said. He closed his eyes and smiled. "Good... something." However, that nap was short lived. A spaceship flew very fast and close past the moon like planet. It was too fast to wake up Lapis, but Wulfenite was wide awake. He held Lapis close to him and looked on how the ship sped to earth. "A moon explorer version 36? With blaster compatibility?" Wulfenite asked himself. "It's very pretty!" Lapis said. She had woken up, to Wulfenite's surprise. "Hello Lapis. Did I wake you?" "Did you make that loud zooming noise?" Wulfenite shook his head: "It was probably that ship." "Then it wasn't you. Don't worry, even if you did, I don't mind." Lapis said as she stroked her fingers through Wulfenite's hair. "That ship looks like it's heading to earth. Why would it do that?" Lapis asked; "Do you think it's looking for us?" "I don't know. Let's hope not." Wulfenite said. He put Lapis down and took a look at earth. "Woah, there's a giant hole right there. Do you think it is a battle scar? You know, from the war?" Wulfenite asked. "I suppose. I don't know how the war went." Lapis said as she lay down. "I feel like I should've been there. To stop Homeworld and help the rebellion." "I'm glad you didn't. You could've gotten yourself shattered! What would I do without you?" "I'm sure you can take care of yourself. You're a strong and smart girl." Wulfenite said. Lapis blushed and buried her face in Wulfenite's hair. "You should really do something about that hair of yours. It's too long." "It has always been like this. Don't you like it?" "I do, but it could be a bit shorter." "Like this?" Wulfenite shapeshifted his hair the way Lapis has it, and then shortened it. "Look! We match a bit!" Wulfenite said with a smile. I love it!" Lapis said with a happy expression. They watched the stars shine bright in the dark sky. Everything felt peaceful and relaxing.
The two gems were floating around as always. Lapis was grooming Wulfenite's hair. "I really like it. I'm glad I told you to shorten it." "Yeah, good job, Lapis." Our of nowhere, a giant beam hit Wulfenite, launching him and Lapis far away. They landed a couple miles away. "What was that?" Lapis said shocked. She saw Wulfenite full of cuts and bruises. He got hit pretty bad. Wulfenite noticed Lapis's expression. "Don't worry, I can take it." Wulfenite stood up but fell over again. "Take it easy." Lapis said as she helped him get back up. "I'm fine. I'm just glad they -ouch- didn't hit you." Wulfenite said. Lapis flew up and headed back to the impact site. "Lapis stop!" Wulfenite flew up too and followed Lapis. He found her in front of a giant ship. "Get away from there!" Wulfenite yelled. Lapis held her hand back, signing Wulfenite to stay put. "Why don't you leave us alone?! Can't you see we don't want to hurt anybody?! We're just minding our own business! Leave us be!" Lapis summoned a giant water hand and punched the ship away. It flew back, but Lapis was prepared. She made the hand into a fist and slammed it on top of the spaceship. The ship shot towards Lapis multiple times, but Lapis blocked most of them. Wulfenite flew towards Lapis and grabbed her shoulder. Lapis grabbed Wulfenite with another water hand and held him away. "Don't stop me, I'm ending this once and for all." Lapis looked determined at Wulfenite. He tried to escape and he squirmed around. Lapis flew up and shot the ship with water needles. The battle went on for a while. The ship was smoking and Lapis was full of cuts. "Lapis! This is not a good way to go! I can't lose you now!" "What makes you think... I will lose?!" Lapis was noticeably injured. Wulfenite knew she wasn't going to hold on much longer. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He opened his eyes again and bursted out of the hand. He smashed through the ship and threw it with a circular motion right in the direction of Homeworld. He looked back at Lapis. She was injured pretty bad. He flew towards her and held her in his arms. "I feel fine, I'm still hanging on." Lapis said. She eventually fell to her knees. Wulfenite went to sit next to her. "Don't worry, I'll take you to earth. Rose Quartz can protect us. If she's still alive. What am I saying? Of course she is!" Wulfenite said with a tear on his cheek. "W...Wulfie?" Lapis asked. "Yes dear?" Wulfenite said with a sad tone. "D... Did I do good?" Wulfenite said: "You did amazing. Better then I ever could." Lapis smiled and closed her eyes. Soon after, she poofed. "It's okay, you can rest now." Wulfenite said. He stood up and grabbed a mirror from his pocket. "Go rest in here." Wulfenite said as he put Lapis into the mirror. He flipped the mirror side up and looked at his reflection. "You're going to be okay. I'm gonna make sure of it." Wulfenite said. The mirror lit up and showed Wulfenite's face: "I'm going to be okay." It said, using old clips from Wulfenite's dialogue. Wulfenite smiled at the mirror and with a bittersweet tone: "Let's go to earth."
Wulfenite flew towards the next planet. Planet earth. It was a short flight. He flew over many majestic places. Even some post war stuff. He was amazed. He even saw the famous Galaxy Warp. It didn't work, though. He tried to activate it, but it was clearly broken. Later that day, near a small city, he made himself a cave on a hill. Just like old times. He made a bed and a fire. He took off his cape and took a nap. The next day, he woke up and reached inside of his pocket to get Lapis out of her mirror. But something was wrong; the mirror was missing. "Lapis? Where are you? Did you get out?" Wulfenite smacked his forehead. He forgot to take Lapis out of his pocket the day before. He started to panic. He lost his love! Where could she be? He flew out of the cave and backtracked his flying pattern. He searched for a good while, but he didn't find her. Nowhere. Wulfenite was devastated. He lost his dearest. He lost his partner. He lost his girl.
Wulfenite flew back to the moon like planet. He circled the planet multiple times, but he didn't find her there. He eventually returned to earth. He couldn't have left Lapis on the moon like planet, because he remembered putting her in his back pocket when he entered earth's atmosphere. Back on earth, he would go out and search for her. He flew far and wide; even at places where he never even went. "What did I do? I lost my girlfriend on this wretched planet. Oh my stars... Is she still alive? Did someone take her? Did I drop her in the ocean?" Wulfenite was devastated. He didn't know what to do. There was only one thing to do. Look for his Dearest. Everyday. He never stopped. He flew through the busy streets and the empty wastelands. He learned much about earth and its people. He saw how the humans evolved to self sufficient beings. They acted like gems did on Homeworld. Wulfenite was pleasantly surprised. Even though he enjoyed earth very much, he never forgot about Lapis. Every night, he would look out on the sea and think about her. "I will find you, my dear. I can't let this minor inconvenience ruin our relationship. Don't worry. We'll be together in no time."
