Wulfenite: A Steven Universe Story

Chapter 21

Wulfenite soared through the sky. He saw the car wash, the boulevard, Funland and the temple; his destination. Wulfenite dive bombed through the roof: "Good morning to you all!" Steven got scared, yelled and fell out of his bed. He rubbed is head and said: "Wulfenite! I told you not to crash through the roof before twelve o'clock!" "What's a clock?" Wulfenite answered. Garnet warped in. "Looks like you're already here. We have a situation. It appears that a former circus owner has captured corrupted gems and he's selling them to other humans. We need to do something and you are our backup." Wulfenite nodded and walked up onto the warp pad. "See ya, Steven!" Steven waved while Wulfenite and Garnet warped away. "I really need to teach Wulfenite earth stuff..."

The warp pad transported the three gems to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. "I've been here when I looked for Lapis." Wulfenite told Garnet. "We're looking for a big yellow skyscraper." "Oh, I don't remember seeing that one." Wulfenite said. "Then let's look for one." The gems walked into downtown. "Is that the one?" Wulfenite pointed to a blue skyscraper. Garnet shook her head: "I didn't know colorblindness was a side effect of being dropped in liquid gem fluid." Wulfenite chuckled: "Sorry." Wulfenite noticed the big statue on top of a hill. "Who's that?" He asked Garnet, who didn't have a clue. Garnet looked around and suddenly stood still. "There it is!" She yelled and pulled Wulfenite towards the yellow skyscraper. Wulfenite saw it coming, but he didn't feel like ruining Garnet's fun. She pulled him all the way to the skyscraper. "This is great and all, but we can't just walk in like normal people. I think I can fly us to the top, but is that where he resides?" Wulfenite said as he looked next to him. Garnet unfused. "I take it that's a yes?" Wulfenite chuckled. Ruby and Sapphire ran into a nearby clothes shop. Wulfenite followed behind. "We're going to disguise our way in." Ruby said; "Sapphire and I are going to disguise ourselves as children and you are going to disguise as our father, so get a tuxedo." Wulfenite reacted: "What's a tuxedo?"

The gems walked out of the store without paying and walked back to the skyscraper. "Let's do this. Play it cool." Wulfenite said while giving Ruby a shoulder bump. Wulfenite walked up to the counter and said: "Hello, sir. I'm looking for my wife. Her name is Laaa- I mean L-Lana! Yes, her name is Lana. Me and my kids want to say goodbye, because we're going on a vacation." The receptionist looked down and saw the two kids. She said: "Understandable. She's on the 5th floor. Here's the elevator key. Please return it when you're done." Wulfenite took the key and said: "Wow thanks, will do." Wulfenite walked the two gems into the elevator. "Que homem estranho..." The receptionist said.

"Good guess!" Ruby said. "We're very lucky. Okay, now which level is the gem dealer?" Wulfenite said to himself as he looked to the numbers. Meanwhile, Ruby and Sapphire were busy complimenting each other's acting skills. "This must be the one. Who else puts a sticker with 'top secret' on an elevator?" Wulfenite ignited the elevator and pressed the button. The elevator went up to the 14th floor. "C'mon Guys, fuse. We need to have full power when we defeat that horrible man." Ruby lifted Sapphire up and they fused. The elevator came to a stop and opened. Wulfenite jumped out and rushed forward. There was a man sitting in a big chair. "What do you want, sir?" The man said cranky. Garnet had joined Wulfenite and yelled: "We're here to take the gems you stole!" The man laughed: "Sooner or later, you pesky lads would come stop me, but I ain't going back to prison!" The man grabbed a gem destabilizer and ran towards Wulfenite. "Oh no! A gem destabilizer! Where'd he get that?!" Wulfenite yelled. Garnet summoned her gauntlets and punched the man in the stomach. "Grrrh!" The man kneeled and took a breather, then he forcefully thrusted the destabilizer into Garnet's gut. The scene was horrible. Wulfenite stood powerless at the sight of garnet splitting in half. "No!!" Wulfenite summoned his staff, busted out of his tux and rolled out his cape. "You're gonna pay for that!" Wulfenite dashed forward and knocked the gem destabilizer out of the man's hand. He followed his attack with a strike of his staff on the man's leg, making him lose balance. Wulfenite slammed the man against the floor with his elbow. "Never pick a fight with the son of the Diamonds." Wulfenite ran towards the components of Garnet and hid them in a waistpouch. He walked up to the desk, pressed a red button and revealed a big room full of corrupted monster gems. "What a horrible sight... Sorry for this." Wulfenite said and he shot and poofed every single gem with his staff and sent them all to the temple. He then called the cops, left a note and crashed through the roof. "Let's go home, guys." Wulfenite said as he flew back to the temple.
