Wulfenite: A Steven Universe Story

Prologue: Chapter 3

The Diamonds and Wulfenite arrived back on Homeworld at the special hangar where they parked their ships. "Now we're heading to the training facility." Yellow Diamond said; "I've rounded up my best fighters. Even though I run the militairy, I gave Blue and Pink the good fighters. For your training now, I only have a handful of Amethysts who do a mediocre job. If you've proven you can beat them, you'll be our official guardian." Wulfenite got scared; he had never fought before. What was her idea of good fighting? Wulfenite decided to go with his own style of fighting. A while later, they arrived at the fighting facility. "My Amethysts will be here shortly. Get ready. Where's your weapon?" Yellow Diamond asked. "Weapon?" "Yes, where is it?" "Do I have one?" "Everyone has one. Go summon it from your gem." Wulfenite looked at his right hand. "How do I summon my weapon?" "Just pull it from your gem!" Wulfenite tried a couple of times and he eventually got it: "Woah! This is my gem weapon? It's a staff! That's so cool!" Wulfenite spun the staff around his body and smashed into the ground, creating a shockwave. "Watch out, Wulfenite! Save it for later." Yellow Diamond said. "Sorry... I'm just so hyped! I get to fight with my personal weapon!" Yellow Diamond chuckled. "They're here. Let me see what you got going for you." Yellow stepped back as a horde of Amethyst entered the training facility: "There he is! Let's get him!" They yelled. "This is going to be fun!" Wulfenite said as he ran towards the amethysts. He jumped over the leading amethyst and punched her in the back. Then, he pierced her with his staff. "One down! Bring it!" Wulfenite yelled. He spun his staff around his body, knocking the remaining Amethysts back. Then, he accidentally shot an amethyst with a beam that came from his staff. "Woah! That's a neat feature!" Wulfenite said. Wulfenite zigzagged to the next Amethyst and punched her in the face, but also got hit in his back. "Hey!" Wulfenite said and he blocked the next blow with his staff. He kicked the Amethyst up, followed her up, grabbed her face and smashed it into the floor. "You're done." He said. He jumped onto another Amethyst and pushed her forwards using his legs. He fell on the ground, tackled the Amethyst and stuck his staff through her body. "Okay, one left! Let's go!" The Amethyst summoned her weapon. "Woah! You have a staff too!?" Wulfenite said confused. He threw his staff at the Amethyst, who dodged it and threw her staff, too. Wulfenite caught her staff and broke it. Then, he ran up to the Amethyst and drop kicked her against the wall and finished her off with a straight punch to the face. "Whew, what a workout!" Wulfenite stretched his arms. Yellow Diamond was amazed: "Wulfenite, you really are something. You've proven to be of good use. We'll get you everything you need to defend Homeworld and its colonies. Starting with your personal ship." "Woah, really? That's incredible! I'm getting my own ship!" Wulfenite said as he ran up to Yellow Diamond. "Yes. Now let's go to the Diamond room. You're getting your own throne. To honor everything you'll do for Homeworld."

On their way to the Diamond room, Yellow Diamond and Wulfenite were having a chat. "So, I wasn't supposed to be male?" Wulfenite asked. "No. You were dropped in liquid gem fluid, which meddled with your gem structure. That also means you're a fusion of almost every kind of gem." "Does that mean I'm part Diamond?!" "I said almost." "Aw, but I guess that's fair. I'm not nearly big enough to qualify as a Diamond." "Well, size doesn't matter. Pink is small, too." "I guess that's true. She's also the most childish. I like that about her. Really makes her stand out." "Well, you're the only one who likes that attribute. Blue and I just want her to grow up. She doesn't act like a Diamond at all. She keeps begging for a colony, saying she'll take good care of it and all, but we know better." "I mean, if you want her to grow up, you need to give her something to prove her worth. Maybe she'll handle her colony the right way and learn something about responsibility." "You know Wulfenite, that's a good idea. I'll give her a colony. There's still a planet we don't use. A stupid rock called earth. She can have that one." "That's really nice of you, mom." "Don't... never mind. We've arrived at the Diamond room."
