Wulfenite: A Steven Universe Story

Chapter 8

Wulfenite and Steven were still looking for the gem. They looked everywhere. Then suddenly, Steven yelled: "I see it! It's over there!" Steven pulled Wulfenite's cape and pointed at a giant worm-like gem. "You're right! Let's get her!" Wulfenite summoned his staff and dashed towards the worm. He shot at the worm. It didn't work. "Is everything on this planet resistant against my blaster or something?" Wulfenite said annoyed. Steven threw his shield towards the worm, doing some serious damage. Wulfenite spun his staff around his body, creating a gust of wind, which threw the gem off in the process. Then he slashed right through the gem's body and poofed it. "That was... SO COOL!" Steven yelled and swung his arms around. Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl arrived. "Good work, you two. I'll bring it back to the temple." Garnet said; "Let's go home." The gems made their way to the warp pad. "Do I get to meet Peridot now?" Wulfenite remembered. Steven yelled: "That's right, I almost forgot!"

The gems returned to the temple. Wulfenite still needed to know what was behind the door, so he asked: "Say guys, what lies beyond this door?" Wulfenite pointed at the gem door. Amethyst said: "Our rooms! Do you want to see mine?" Amethyst opened her door. "Fascinating..." Wulfenite murmured. Amethyst led him into the room. "All our rooms are connected. Also, all the collected gems are stored in garnet's room." Wulfenite looked around, fascinated by the way the temple works. "Why is your room such a mess?" Wulfenite curiously asked amethyst. "Well, I like it messy. It has a system, you know. By the way, do you know our fusions have their own rooms as well?" Wulfenite looked shocked at amethyst. He said: "I guess it makes sense. Garnet has her own room as well." Amethyst gave Wulfenite a slap on the back. "You get it!" Amethyst opened the door again and escorted Wulfenite out of the room. There, Steven was waiting. "Are you ready to go?" Steven asked lightly irritated. Wulfenite scratched the back of his head and said: "Sorry, Steven. I'm ready."

Wulfenite and Steven traveled on the back of Lion towards the barn. Wulfenite was impressed when Steven told him the story of Lion. Who knew a kid could be this handy? Well, of course he was handy too in his younger days. They arrived at the barn. Steven made sure that Peridot knew about the secret and he had full trust in her. Steven dismounted Lion, followed by Wulfenite. Steven punched the door, yelling: "Peridot! Open up! Wulfenite is here to meet you!" Peridot removed the lock and opened the door. There she saw Wulfenite. She was scared by the height difference. He was almost thrice the size of Steven! She shook her head and introduced herself: "I'm Peridot and you must be the Wulfenite. It's an honor to meet you. I've heard of your existence, but I've never seen you in real life, until today." Wulfenite scratched the back of his head and said: "It's nice to meet you too, Peridot. Can we come in?" Peridot nodded and opened the door up some more. Steven and Wulfenite entered and Wulfenite asked: "What are these things?" "Those are meepmorps. I made them to cherish all of my experiences on earth. I've only lived here for about 2 years, but I've learned an impressive amount of things about earth's culture." Peridot said. Wulfenite looked at the meepmorps. It was quite cool looking. Peridot noticed the sun was hanging low and came with a suggestion: "Say, It's getting late, why don't you two sleep here tonight?" Steven answered: "I'm sorry Peridot, but I have a mission tonight, but Wulfenite can stay here, if he'd like." Wulfenite agreed: "Sounds fun. I'll stay here tonight." Alright! I need to get back to the temple." Steven said as he walked towards the exit of the barn; "The gems are almost ready to leave." Steven mounted Lion and waved Wulfenite and Peridot goodbye. "See ya later, Steven!" Wulfenite yelled.
