The next day, Steven was sitting at the kitchen counter. He had made a together breakfast again. He sat there and waited for the crystal gems to come back. "They sure take their time, that machine must be really big. Like really big!" Steven stretched his arms and lied down on the ground. "I could go eat this with Lapis, but it wouldn't be a together breakfast with just two people." Pearl warped in. "Pearl! I made breakfa-" Pearl grabbed some parts and warped back again. "Sheesh, how important is that weapon? She didn't even look at me." Steven sat down on the couch. A while later, Garnet warped in. Steven jumped up, grabbed his plate and stood in front of Garnet: "Garnet! I made together breakfast. It isn't exactly healthy, but it's in a stack. So I guess you could say it's a BALANCED breakfast?" Garnet looked at Steven and said: "I'm having déja vu here." "You didn't seem to like it the first time, so I figured I'd give it another try." Garnet groomed Steven's hair and walked towards the closet. "What are you looking for?" Steven asked. "I'm looking for a link cable for the thing we're making." "Can I help?" "Of course. You can help by finding a hexapoly capacitor." "Ok!" Steven didn't want to sound useless, so he didn't bother to ask what it was. Steven jumped into the closet and began searching. Garnet warped out and said: "Good luck!" "Thanks, Garnet!" Steven replied and got back to searching. "Hm. I don't know what I'm looking for and I don't know what it looks like..." Steven grabbed his phone: "Thank the stars for the internet!" Steven typed the name in with some struggle, but he pulled it off eventually. "Hey, I'm not getting any results... what does that mean?" Steven sat down on the stool and tried to search for related results. A while later, Peridot warped in and ran to the door: "Run Steven!! It's gonna explode!" Steven grabbed his breakfast and ran outside. Peridot yelled while running: "Hurry, hide behind the rock ov- hey, where'd that rock go?" Steven said: "I think we smashed it during target practice a while back." "Oh no, where are we gonna hide now?!" With little hesitation, Steven threw his plate away and bubbled himself and Peridot: "Okay, now stay calm and tell me what happened." Peridot swallowed: "Well, we were building a giant rocket to fire at Homeworld, but we've accidentally added too much uranium. It's reacting with the built in gamma rays, it can explode any minute!" "Where are the others?" "They jumped off somewhere, but I can't do that, so I took the long way." "Yeah, they tend to jump off like that... anywa-" Steven was interrupted by a giant explosion somewhere inside the sea. "Really? The underwater base?" Steven pouted; "I've never seen it from up close and now it's gone." "Don't worry, it wasn't a good base anyway." "I just hope Beach City didn't notice. We have been making quite some noise lately. Though, nobody has moved out yet, so let's just assume they've gotten used to it." "And even if they haven't, who cares? we're saving this planet for them, those clods should be grateful." "I guess..." Steven popped the bubble and landed back on the beach; "Let's check if the gems are okay." Peridot nodded. "Do you have an idea about where they could've gone off to?" Right when Steven finished his sentence, Pearl landed behind him: "Oh, thank the stars. You're still alive. We should've never made that rocket, it was too dangerous! Luckily you're still alive." Steven smiled: "Yeah, I keep hanging on. I'm indestructible!" Steven flexed his arms. "Anyway," Pearl said; "Garnet and Amethyst are somewhere here in the city. I think..." Peridot said: "Don't worry about them, they'll come around soon enough. They must be intelligent enough to assume this is the meeting point." "True." Steven nodded. "I suppose you're right. Let's just get back inside. We'll wait for them there." Pearl said as they walked back to the temple.
