KABANATA LVIII
Third Person's POV
The news of what happened in Crescentmoon Territory spread rapidly across every corner of Grand Orleas. Within hours, whispers had become rumors, and rumors had become the only subject anyone seemed willing to discuss. People were stunned that such devastation had occurred inside one of the strongest and most respected packs in Grand Orleas.
Some mourned for Crescentmoon's fallen members and pitied those who had survived. Others, however, believed the pack had brought the disaster upon itself for allowing a demon to infiltrate their territory.
The reappearance of the Good Coven became another major topic, especially because many believed they had disappeared long ago.
Yet one rumor overshadowed everything else. The infamous Fifth Disciple had been seen during the battle.
He still couldn't determine whether Lukariah had truly awakened or if she had merely been pretending. Either way, Ophir refused to gamble with Yvaine's life.
"Yvaine!" Sunod-sunod ang malalakas niyang katok sa pinto. Gabi na, and he assumed his sister was already asleep. Ngunit ilang minuto na siyang kumakatok at wala pa ring sumasagot.
"Yvaine! Open this door now!"
"K-Kuya?" Mabilis siyang napalingon.
There stood Yvaine, holding a small basket against her body.
His eyes immediately traveled over her body, checking for injuries. She kept avoiding his gaze, and that alone was enough to make his suspicions rise.
"Yvaine, I'm warning you." Matigas ang kanyang boses.
Yvaine lowered her head and tightened her grip around the basket.
"I-I'm sorry..."
"I-I can't tell you." Napabuntong-hininga si Ophir.
"Alright. It doesn't matter. Come on."
"Pack all your important things."
"Now. Move faster, Yvaine!" Hindi niya mapigilan ang pagkainis. Normally, one command was enough for Yvaine to obey him.
"We're leaving. For good."
