KABANATA LXVII

Third Person's POV

Inside it was something precious, something she had carefully prepared for the daughter she had spent years protecting from a fate she could never control.

A shaky breath escaped her lips as anxiety slowly settled in her chest.

Hindi niya alam kung ano ang magiging kapalit ng digmaang ito, or what consequences it would bring upon her daughter. Yet, despite her fear, she trusted Everly.

Alam niyang ito na ang pagkakataong matagal niyang hinihintay—the chance to finally change the destiny that had bound her and Lukariah for so long.

Nearby, Emris stood with the other elders in their assigned positions. They were prepared to advance the moment the signal was given. Their role was clear: remain among the frontline warriors and use their abilities to protect as many soldiers as possible.

And finally, the person everyone had been waiting for—especially Lukariah—appeared.

Everly floated above Cresentmoon's Forest, her tribal clothing swaying violently against the icy wind created by the sudden transformation of the Grand Orleas River.

Then Everly raised one hand toward the sky.

A brilliant sphere of light formed above her palm before shooting toward the invisible barrier surrounding the entire territory.

The instant the light struck, cracks spread across the barrier.

Iyon ang hudyat. It was time to advance.

Crescentmoon's warriors began moving toward the frozen portion of the Grand Orleas River. Every step carried them closer to the enemy. The atmosphere grew heavier, almost suffocating, as if the very air itself sensed the bloodshed that was about to begin.

Then everything stopped.

In the next instant, she stood barely two meters away from Darkmoon's leaders—Lukariah and Crizelle.

"Nemya." Her voice was cold.

Kaagad na kumilos si Nemya. She teleported beside Everly, bringing Cimmerian with her.

"C—Cimmerian..."

Rafael immediately recognized the woman standing before him. Despite the distance, there was no mistaking her face.

He instinctively moved forward, but one of the Darkmoon soldiers grabbed his arm.

"What is the meaning of this, my lady?!" sigaw niya, desperately struggling against the soldier's grip. "Let go of me!"

Crizelle rolled her eyes before slowly turning toward him.

The revelation spread through Rafael's forces like wildfire. Disappointment, anger, and betrayal filled their expressions. Hindi nila kailanman ginustong makipaglaban para sa Darkmoon, especially after realizing that their grief and weakness had been deliberately exploited.
