KABANATA LXII

Third Person's POV

Two days had passed since the tragedy, yet the Good Coven remained trapped in uncertainty. Another meeting was underway as they debated what must be done once Runa and Everly finally awakened.

Without Chief Morana, the group felt strangely incomplete, as if the loss of their leader had left a permanent void that none of them knew how to fill.

The weight of Morana's responsibilities had been divided among the remaining members to ease the burden on Runa. Ngunit para kay Corvina, hindi sapat iyon. She believed Enora's decision could greatly affect Runa's future and her right to inherit Morana's position.

"Runa isn't ready to take over yet. She needs our guidance and support before anything else," Enora explained firmly.

"I'll talk to her," Nayen offered.

Meanwhile, Alameah raised another concern. "What about Everly? What will we do once she wakes up?"

Napailing si Enora. Wala pa rin silang konkretong plano para kay Everly. She knew the girl would probably refuse to remain with them once she regained consciousness.

Everly had always followed her own path, and forcing her to stay would only create another conflict.

Their priority was to keep Grand Orleas safe if Everly lost control again—or if the Dark Coven launched another attack now that they knew Weresfia's true identity.

"The truth is, Morana left me a message before she and Runa departed that night," Enora finally admitted.

"Ano iyon, Lady Enora?" Laurine asked curiously.

Huminga nang malalim si Enora before finally revealing the warning Morana had entrusted to her.

"She told me that we must do everything in our power to prevent Ufara from awakening. She also asked us to guide Everly in everything concerning Weresfia's power." Tahimik na nakinig ang lahat.

"We couldn't control the lives lost that night, nor could we control those monsters. The blame belongs to the Dark Coven. Every disaster that has plagued Grand Orleas for generations has been connected to their ambitions." Saglit siyang natahimik, her gaze becoming distant.

"Morana already expected something tragic to happen. Perhaps she even anticipated that she might die. She left her advice because she knew we would have to continue without her." Napatitig siya sa dating kinatatayuan ni Morana.
