As soon as Xiao arrives within the depths of the infernal region, he immediately hides behind a defiled statue of a certain god he couldn't identify. There were karmic chains that bound the statue, they emit an ungodly miasma which was making Xiao retch at the sight and smell of it. But, he must reach the demons' tower by the horizon to confront the leader, Mahazael.
He couldn't afford to be caught by even one of the demons around the area, or he would kiss your soul goodbye. His strength may be able to fend off the demons around the castle but it would cause alarm and Mahazael may completely devour your soul.
It was fortunate that he was able to study the ins and outs of the tower since.. he used to serve Mahazael himself, in exchange for immense power behind his mask. This information alone may be able to help him plan his escape route in case things go south. His power is already diminishing from the fight earlier in the main city, so he couldn't use his powers to teleport himself to the main tower.
Xiao managed to sneak past the demons at ease. He noticed that they emit a sort of a melancholic aura which feels heavy. Stories tell that your soul will undergo divine judgement from the holy lands to weigh the good and evil. Most demons are lost or vile souls and are sent in the infernal region to mindlessly wander the cold, lifeless world as punishment.
"Ugh." He let out a pained moan upon feeling the stinging wounds on his legs. It was not ideal to set off in this dangerous journey while your wounds are still fresh from the battle earlier. But he couldn't afford to let the time pass by knowing that your life is within a demon's hand, much less than it's with his former master. "Mahazael, you'll definitely pay for this."
The yaksha had already escaped the demon's grasp with the help of the geo archon, Morax. Those days were long gone as he tried to blend in with the humans today. If it wasn't for Morax's help, then he wouldn't be able to see the light of day and escape the infernal region. However, Morax was nowhere to be found when Liyue was under attack by the demons.
Xiao couldn't afford to ask him for help since Morax already helped him quite enough. He figures that he's under an unpaid debt for saving his life from Mahazael and this time, he would like to face his former master just by himself.
There is a huge percentage of error upon doing this. Mahazael is one of the four princes after all that governs the elements in the infernal region. Who knows what might happen to Xiao right after this mission. But the male could care less about his well-being, all his goal right now is to save your soul and nothing else.
"Mahazael!" Xiao calls out upon entering the demon's lair, his primordial weapon shines in a menacing green color as his footsteps echo throughout the seemingly empty lair. "Come out you scumbag."
Chuckling was heard behind Xiao's current location, as well as the sound of heels clicking, echoing throughout the place as the demon prince makes his way towards the adeptus. He gives the adeptus a round of applause upon seeing him rather alive and well right after escaping his grasp. It was a genuine applause to congratulate him for doing so, as well as to mock him.
