"Tch, do I really have to look over the child? Why won't Tartaglia do it? He's a doting brother to his siblings, why won't he do it?"
"Because I already have a Childe" Tartaglia, who was by the balladeer's side for the whole time spoke up while gesturing to himself. As if liking the joke he made, his laughter filled the room.
Scaramouche looked over Tartaglia's direction with an unamused expression on his face. He wasn't really fond of the latter's jokes despite being his partner on countless missions before, Scaramouche always had this sort of Love-Hate relationship with his 'co-workers'.
The Tsaritsa however, disregarded the lame joke by Tartaglia and instead, looked down on the harbinger with her usual cold, emotionless eyes and said nothing about his rebuttal. She was rather used to with Scaramouche's complaints but nevertheless, she always saw him doing what was tasked to him. The cryo archon felt the terrified emotion of the child when they hid behind her leg, peeking ever so slightly towards the aggregated harbinger.
Even if her heart is as cold as ice, she couldn't ever refuse a mere child walking under the thick, cold snow through the streets of Snezhnaya asking for spare change and alms.
"So, will you do it or not?"
Scaramouche gave the child a long, hard stare to contemplate if he should accept the task. He knew how hard it is to raise a child on his own, especially if he'll be all by himself. But he couldn't afford to refuse the Tsaritsa's orders and so he gave a reluctant nod towards the archon.
"Then it is settled." The tsaritsa knelt down to meet the child's height then placed her cold hand on top of their head. "From then on, Scaramouche will be known as your father"
Tartaglia's face broke into a fit of laughter as he couldn't imagine what it's like to have Scaramouche as a father. Probably, he would yell at you over some superficial things but that was it. Though, he was rather amused to why the latter accepted the mission since he doesn't particularly like children.
Scaramouche emotionlessly looked at the child, thinking what kind of mess they'd make in the future. But nevertheless, he wasn't looking forward to this new mission one bit.
