"Do you have to eat like that-"
One sunny day in Liyue, Victoria was accompanying Xiao on his adventure to find out what was causing the hilichurls to act weirdly. It was like something was controlling them.
Victoria and Xiao were resting under an apple tree to eat lunch. The traveler had prepared meat buns at the kitchen in Wangshu Inn. Good thing that Smiley Yanxiao had helped otherwise there could've been a huge mess.
"Itsh tashty" Victoria answered Xiao while scarfing down a steaming meat bun in her mouth.
Meat buns are best eaten hot, she had made this early in the morning and it was still hot now. Maybe it's because of the warming bottle inside of her bag, that's why the food is still warm.
"Want some?" She asked while offering the adepti a piece of the steaming bun. "It's edible I promise"
Xiao looked at the meat bun before grabbing them, "...t-thanks.." he mumbled and looked at the meat bun on his hands. The white colored bun was lightly glistening under the sun and the steam can clearly be seen wafting it.
The adepti took a bite and he immediately tasted the flavorful filling of the buns. Unconsciously, a smile appeared on his features upon swallowing the meat bun.
"This... reminds me of home.." Xiao mumbled.
Right before the archon war, Guizhong would always make steaming meat buns for all of the adepti. Zhongli would also often join the feast in Mount Hulao where they all laugh and tell each other stories of their days while eating food.
Xiao missed those days.
"Ah, it's delicious" he looked at Victoria and approvingly nodded his head. "I could already taste the filling on the first bite"
Victoria smiled proudly, "See? Eat up! There's plenty of the meat buns to go around!"
Xiao shook his head and stood up. He narrowed his eyes to scan the surroundings for any traces of the possessed Hilichurls. And there he saw a masked individual who was in front of the Hilichurls.
The adepti motioned Victoria to stand up and follow him. The traveler nods and quickly placed the meat bun in her mouth before following Xiao to the masked man.
"Greetings. I am Starsnatcher, one of the adepti" the man greeted the two of them while showing the sigil of permission towards the Hilichurls. "I command thee, purify the bad entity on these hilichurls!"
But the sigil didn't do anything. Victoria was about to say something but Xiao raised his hand. In the end, Victoria and Xiao had to fend off the the attacking Hilichurls away.
Starsnatcher was then scolded by Xiao as he was only imitating an adepti. Xiao had also somehow scared him making Starsnatcher stop from tricking his innocent followers.
Victoria and Xiao went to the Wangshu Inn once that everything was sorted out. Verr Goldet told Victoria that Starsnatcher had left the Inn and left a letter for her, enclosed was the sigil of permission in which Victoria gave to Xiao.
"What would you like to eat?" Xiao asks Victoria who was looking around the area. She sat on the seat across Xiao and shrugged. "Still full? Well I'd like some Meat Buns"
Victoria looked at the adepti with an unexpected look. "No almond tofu for today..?"
The adepti shrugged, "The taste of the meat buns brings be back in time. I'd like to taste them again.."
"Well in that case let me cook them for you!" Victoria enthusiastically grinned and stood up from the chair, walking towards the kitchen and grabbing the key ingredients in making it. "It won't take a long time.. wait for me okay?"
As soon as Victoria turn around, Xiao smiled at her and shook his head. He was wouldn't admit but he was quite happy that he had an adventure with her today.
