Childe grins as he stood in front of you, sweating profusely and seems to be breathing heavily. Right after you two fought in the golden house, you fortunately won.
"I may have underestimated you" he grinned and returned to his natural look. "Although you may have beat me-"
He was cut off by some Mileliths barging inside the house, they surrounded you and Childe at the center. The fatui was shocked for a second before his expression turned cold again.
"Some reinforcements I see?"
The mileliths surrounded Childe as they pointed their own weapons at the Fatui. Nevertheless, a laugh erupted from Childe's throat as he amusingly looked at the mileliths around him. It may seem that it he is sick in the head, so you prepared yourself for something worse.
"This is just pathetic. I could never imagine that you all will be able to defeat me, after I'll revive the- what?"
Childe was fishing something out of his pocket but his prideful face dropped when he realized that the item he was looking for wasn't there. His eyes widened as he looked at your eyes, "Did you..?"
"No it was I." Keqing stepped inside the Golden House alongside Nigguang who was holding some Sigils of Permission on their hands. "Ah so this is what the fatui were up to huh"
Ningguang looked at you with a small smile, "Thank you (Y/n) for capturing Childe. Without your help, we wouldn't be able to keep the Exuvia safe. As for the fatui, he will be locked up in the dungeons for a trial"
"A trial?" Paimon suddenly spoke up and she looked at Childe who was getting restrained by the guards. "It was a shame though, he just wanted to fulfill La Signora's request"
"I'm sure you must be exhausted, the Jade Palace is welcome to be your sanctuary until you continue on your journey"
Ningguang and Keqing both nodded to each other before going out of the Golden Palace. Childe followed after, quietly and made a short eye contact with you.
"That look seems fishy to Paimon" she called out before placing her finger on her chin. "How about we sneak inside the dungeon at night and ask Childe about why he'd done such a thing?"
"Sounds like a plan.. are you trying to get me in trouble?" You crossed your arms and raised an eyebrow at Paimon, but nevertheless you also wanted to know Childe's true intentions. "We break in at midnight, I'm sure the mileliths will be tired by then"

After sneaking around the milleliths, you found yourself in front of Childe's cell. The metal bars prevented Childe from escaping, it was infused with elemental energy as well which doubled it's protection.
You touched the metal bars and it was cold to the point that it already burns your hands.
"Fancy seeing you here, (Y/n). What brought you here?" Childe sat on the center of the room, his head hanging low. Yet, a somehow sly grin was on his face. "Are you breaking me out?"
He stood up and sat on a lone bed, the moonlight from a barred window was illuminating his futures. A tight feeling was felt on your chest upon looking at his current conditions.
As much as you wanted to help him escape, you couldn't since he needed to pay the citizens of Liyue of what he was supposed to do. A grin was plastered on his face when he looked at you, "You know I'm rather glad that you were the one who somehow defeated me"
"I don't know why but seeing you stronger than me sends a strong determined feeling just rushing through me" Childe stood up and walked towards the barred door, even though it was burning him, he held on the bars tightly to get as close to you. "Someday, when we meet again .. let's spar again"
Your eyes widened at what he said. Childe pulled away from you and walked back to his bed and lied down, staring at nothing but the ceiling itself.
It was also getting late and you heard a rumor that Childe's trial was scheduled and will be held where the parting happened. He will be judged it front of the people in Liyue.
You heard a group of milleliths walking towards Childe's cell so you quickly sneaked your way out of the dungeon, hoping that nobody saw you.

The next day, a lot of people were in the somewhat plaza in Liyue. They were all angry at disappointed at Childe and the fatui. Even the people you knew were at all disappointed at the fatui.
Keqing and Ningguang was at the side while Childe was chained at the center. He was looking through the crowd until he saw you, giving you a small smile and a wink. You pursed your lips and walked towards Ningguang.
"Ah (Y/n), did you had a nice sleep in my abode?" Ningguang asked as she eyed Childe, "The milleliths told me he refused to speak up of his reason of his doings. Alas, how about you talk to him?"
"Stay safe" Keqing muttered as you walk towards the center where Childe was.
He smirked, "Has anybody told you how beautiful you are when you're angry?"
Paimon popped out and crossed her arms, "Here's loverboy with his cheap tricks again. How about you live up to what you did?"
Childe shook his head and smiled at Paimon which made her made a sound, "Eek!" before disappearing again. You looked down and stared at the fatui in front of you.
"Are you ready to be reprehended?"
A small laugh came from the fatui's throat when the ground suddenly shook. The people were in chaos as well, your eyes widened and look at Childe who has his chains broken, he wrapped one of his arm around your waist and whispered.
"I hope you like flying" he then changed into the electro fatui that you sparred with and in an instant, you felt being swept away from the ground.
"Childe!!" You yelled as he gently let you down on top of a rocky mountain, it was located not too far away from the parting but it has a great view of it. "You are in deep trouble if you're going to get caught"
The fatui laughed and turned back to normal, "Who said I'm going to get caught? I'd rather run away than laying on the dungeon's bed. Seriously, my back hurts"
"Well..." you mumbled, "I don't mind running away with a guilty criminal"
"Oh?" Childe raised his eyebrows and smirked, "The honorary knight is going to run away with me?"
A small, sly smile was plastered on your lips. "Let's just say I'm guilty at myself also from stealing something from Mondstadt's church."
"Aha, so you're as equally guilty as I am then" Childe brushed your hair away from your face so he could admire you, "I have always admired you, seeing you with Zhongli just made me felt.. mad"
Laughing, you placed a small kiss on his forehead which made the fatui shocked at your actions.
