"I have a task for you"
Aether, one of the outlander twins gave a certain yaksha a piece of paper with a name written on it. Both of the twins own a company that hunts down demons and other malicious beings and puts them into rest. Numerous demons roam all over Teyvat and the twins vowed to wipe everyone of them because they lost their family to a group of demons.
Meanwhile, Lumine handed him a jade spear that he could use against the demon he's supposed to hunt down.
"(Y/n), a half human / demon. They are currently a student in Teyvat University and no one knows that they're a demon just yet" Aether leaned his back on his chair, "Who knows what they're planning. I need you to encapture and kill them"
Xiao curtly nodded and left the corporate.
His weapon disappears whenever he's not using it so it was rather convenient to carry around. It also helps him blend in within the crowd as demons tend to stay away from demon hunters like him.
He always had a hatred towards demons as he was enslaved by them before. Luckily he was found and saved by Rex Lapis, his agent name who later introduced himself as Zhongli. The male introduced Xiao to the agency and he immediately signed up to be an agent. It wasn't long before he earned the top ranking of agents.
Upon entering the school's property, he quickly went towards the bathrooms and with a press of a pendant he's wearing, his suit immediately changed into the university's uniform.
See, the agency uses high technology weapons so that demon hunting could be done more efficiently.
"(Y/n) (L/n), class 4-A" Xiao folded the piece of information and tucked it inside his pocket before taking a leave out of the bathroom. "..I'm impressed that they managed to hide their identity for 4 years"
He quickly blended in a group of chattering students by the hallway. They were all seniors who just came back from the laboratory and are now returning to their own classrooms. Xiao uses a gadget that tracks down demons according to the person's energy.
A beep sound was heard and the light of the gadget flickered on and off, an indication that a demon is near. Xiao turned the gadget off and diverted away from the group of students. The gadget made a sound by the art room where a lone student sits by an easel in the middle of the room.
They concentrated on the canvas in front of them as they gracefully glided their paintbrush. Xiao gently entered the room and cautiously walked towards his target, he was about to grab his spear when the student looked up from painting.
Their eyes glistened as the sun's rays poured through the windows of the room, painting the scenery in a bright color.
"May I help you..?" The student curiously asks, "Oh, are you one of the art members? I'm sorry that I used one of the empty easels, I just couldn't help myself" they reached out for a small pouch in their pockets, "Let me pay for it"
Xiao retracted his hand from grabbing his spear and raised it to stop the student. "It's fine."
He glanced at the canvas where a beautiful scenery was neatly painted on it. Bright blue skies, colorful clouds and mountains so high that it reminds him of his hometown, Liyue.
"My name is (Y/n)" the student smiled, "I paint in my free time, er.. actually I have classes now but I chose to skip it to paint here.."
They scratched the back of their head and then turned back on the painting. "Painting pictures is a stress reliever for me.. my parents always tell me to move schools because there was a demon hunting agency in the area but I chose to stay.."
(Y/n)'s eyes widened, "Oh no, I shouldn't have said too much!!"
Xiao thought to himself, they're merely a harmless demon who paints as a hobby. He doesn't think that (Y/n) could even hurt someone, let alone kill someone like most demons would do since they are half human after all.
The agent took out a container filled with powder that disguises and hides the distinct energy that demons and humans carry. Only trusted agents have this tool that can mask their energy for dangerous missions.
He gave the tool for (Y/n), "Use this for when you sense an agent nearby. Don't worry I'll come back to refill it for you someday"
(Y/n) blinked for a few times before taking the tool away from Xiao.
Before they could take him, Xiao was then nowhere to be found.
"Did you successfully eliminate the demon?" Aether called through Xiao's earpiece.
The agent nods, as if his boss could see it. He started walking away from the school to return to the headquarters.
"I did" he smiled a little to himself at the white lie he did to protect (Y/n).
