For someone who rarely takes a good night's rest nowadays, Keqing was currently drowning under a sea of her own workload despite yawning from here to there. As one of the Liyue Qixing, it is no surprise that her work is heavier than most of the people as they govern the city of Liyue. They're the ones who are keeping Liyue from ending up in shambles, especially the incident back in the Rite of Descension where the people of Liyue needed them the most.
The incidents that happened kept Keqing up all night for self-reflection, but oftentimes her anxiety of what may happen in the near future was the cause of her neverending insomnia. That is why she shoulders most of the heavy workload, as a way to overwork herself so she could easily sleep at night. Keqing honestly doesn't mind the extra work that she usually does everyday, in fact, she'd rather do an excessive amount of paperwork as it prevents her from remembering some past regret and personal problems. But that's for another story to tell.
"Miss Keqing, there have been multiple reports that people are getting overworked and were given a limited amount of pay by a person of nobility by the pier" Huixin, one of the Qixing's secretaries, had dropped a case file in Keqing's office. "If you'd like, I'll let this case be put in the archives until your workload gets lighter"
Huixin was worried about the latter's health as she rarely saw her go outside her office. Not only that, every time the secretary passes by, she would see more documents infinitely pile up. It is rather alarming to see the amount of work that she's doing everyday.
The secretaries offered her some help but they were politely turned down. But it's not like she doesn't appreciate the concern from the people around her, but she just couldn't afford to stay still and take a rest even for just a while. This is the only short period of time where Keqing forgets the problems around her as it serves as her escape from reality. No matter how everyone tells her that overworking is harmful, the female doesn't seem to be fazed at the warnings being thrown to her.
"Hand them to me please, I'll come and take a look at it as soon as I'm done with this paperwork." Keqing broughts her hand out without looking at the person in front of her. Her gaze was firmly affixed to the document she's doing which is about a merchant requesting to put up a small shop by the pier to start his business. "Thank you"
Huixin left the room with a guilty expression on her face. However, this expression subsided when she bumped into a certain traveler who is supposed to be visiting Keqing for a short while. The documents within the secretary's arms all fell to the ground and made a huge mess as they all scattered all throughout a small space in the hallway.
The traveler knelt down and helped the secretary pick up the documents since it was partly his fault for not looking where he's going.
"I apologize- oh, traveler it's you" Huixin looks at the latter once she finished picking up the scattered documents on the floor. A relieved smile appears for a short moment on her face when she sees a couple of papers within your grasp. "Thank you for picking them up"
