"Oh- sorry Taroumaru."
On the day before the Christmas festivities, you were asked by Thoma to help with the cleaning in the teahouse since there was a guest who reserved the whole place for a party yesterday. But with the shortage in staff, every help was needed to clean the place.
Thoma was supposed to reserve a room for his own small get together party for his friends, including you of course.
"I apologize if I called you out here even though you're supposed to be a guest in the party" the blonde haired male glided the swiffer on to every nook and cranny of the teahouse, making sure that everything was sparkly clean. "I called everyone else but they're rather busy"
"No problem, the café is closed during this season anyway" you wiped Taroumaru's wooden counter, earning a satisfied bark from the owner. "Yes, Taroumaru I'm wiping it with every strength I have"
You made a gesture as if you're exerting all of your force on the cloth on the table. Taroumaru was watching you on a chair and often hovering over the place you're wiping on to inspect it. You don't mind Taroumaru's behavior, it's rather understandable that he inspects every corner since this is his establishment after all.
As soon as Thoma was finished with dusting, he proceeded to help out the other staff outside where he started pruning the bushes and pulling out different weeds. You were about to start sweeping the floor when Taroumaru leapt over to his counter. He started barking over to your direction and gesturing towards the chair he was sitting on earlier.
Connecting each puzzle piece together, it seems like Taroumaru wants you to rest for a while.
"You want me to take a break?"
A cheerful bark escapes the dog's mouth as his tail begins moving in a fast manner. This tells you that you have successfully deciphered what he was trying to say. However, what made you happy was his concern for your well being.
You decided to sit down on the chair so Taroumaru wouldn't be worried any longer. The teahouse owner sits up from his usual spot before jumping on your lap to comfortably sit there while you both rest.
A sense of accomplishment runs through your veins when you start to brush Taroumaru's fur and he snuggles against your touch. It felt great that he trusts you right after a certain incident in the teahouse which renders Taroumaru to trust more people.
"(Y/n), I'm done cleaning outside- ah, I see Taroumaru quickly took a liking to you" Thoma enters the room and immediately sees you resting on a chair and a dozing Taroumaru curled up upon your lap. "He usually doesn't show such care to everyone, he probably saw something special within you"
