Ren (Birthday Oneshot)

You looked into the mirror and questioned your life choices. You were currently wearing a cat costume. Why? Because a few days ago Ren said this, "I wonder what you'd look like in ears and a tail, kitten." "Huh?" You had replied with a red face. "I know, how about you dress up as a cat for my birthday. You'd do that, wouldn't you, Kitten?" "No way!" You had said. And yet here you are. It's his birthday. So, no matter how silly you feel, he asked for this. You moved towards the door. You put your hand on the doorknob. Then you rushed over and collapsed on your bed. You could feel your face burning.

You stayed there for a while. Contemplating whether you should go or stay in your room. You looked over at the clock. It was 11:55 AM. Oh no. You had forgotten about a party that some of the other boys planned for Ren! It happens at noon! You rushed out of your bed. You don't have time to change. You threw on a long coat and pulled up the hood.

"Why are you wearing a coat?" Syo asked. "Ummm, I've been a bit cold recently." You replied. "Are you getting sick?" Syo asked with a worried tone. "No no no, I'm fine." You said with a smile. But since you had your hood on, you're not sure he could see it anyway. "Alright then. If you are getting sick, don't push yourself too hard." Syo said, then he walked off. You let out a sigh of relief. 

"Why are you wearing a coat, Kitten?" You heard someone ask from behind you. Any relief you had got washed away by panic as you recognized the voice. "Just cold, Ren." You replied. You felt arms wrap around you. "I can warm you up." You felt your face heat up. "How about you go enjoy the party? You can't particularly do that with your arms around me." You said. "You underestimate me, Kitten. But, I'm sure you'd rather me not." He then let go of you and walked off. He probably could tell that you didn't want to talk about it. "Great, now he thinks I'm pushing him away." You whispered to yourself. You two weren't dating, but you had a huge crush on him. Pushing him away is the last thing you want to do.

~Time skip~

The party was now over. You didn't talk to Ren the entire party. But on the plus side, no one asked about your coat. You wanted to find Ren, but he had disappeared. You sighed as you opened your door. Today had not gone as you planned. But, did you even have a plan to begin with? You shut the door. "Hey, my lady." You heard. You jumped at the sudden voice. You looked over to find Ren sitting on your bed. "Um, what are you doing here?" You asked. "Something seemed to be bothering you. So, I came to cheer you up." He said, getting off the bed and walking over to you. "I'm sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring you, and on your birthday. It's just I. I." You pulled off your coat. 

He stopped dead in his tracks with his eyes wide. "Why are you wearing that?" He asked. You felt your face burn. "What do you mean? You're the one who suggested this." You said, looking down. "Wha-" You looked up at him. He seemed to have remembered what he had said. Then he did something unexpected. 

He burst into laughter. This is the first time you'd ever seen him laugh like that. "W-What is it?" You asked. When he finally got some hold of himself, he answered. "You shouldn't take everything so seriously, Kitten." "What?" You realized what he meant. "I-It was a joke?" You asked. You felt your face burn with embarrassment. He walked closer to you. "It was. But I'm glad you took it seriously." He said, looking over you. "I'm such an idiot." You said with a small laugh. "Does it make me more of an idiot to love you?" He asked. You felt your eyes widen. "L-Love?" You asked. His eyes met yours. "My lady, nobody else lights a fire in me anymore." He said. "I-I love you too, Ren." You said. He leaned  even closer to you. "May I?" He asked. "Yes." You said quietly. Then, he kissed you.

After a while, you remembered something. "Oh no. I forgot to get you anything for your birthday." You said. "Hm, that's alright. The only thing I need is you, Kitten."
