Ai x Reader (Sad Series)

I'm going try to remember to start putting warnings. Warning: Fire

She made him feel things he never had. That smile will be forever etched into his mind. Those words burned into his memory. The grief will forever way down on him. 

"What do you enjoy so much about these walk?" Ai asked you. "I love spending time with you." You said to him with a smile. "Are you desperate for human interaction?" He asked. "It couldn't be just anyone, it has to be you." You said. "Why is that?" He said looking truly puzzled. "Because I love you Ai." You replied to him. "You love me?" He asked. "I've told you that before silly. Is your memory failing you?" You asked. "I know you've said that before. But I don't understand how that answers my question." You grabbed his hand. "It has to be you. I know that one day you'll understand. And even if it's not me who helps you understand, I'll love you all the same." "Y/N I-" He was cut off by several screams. You looked over to see an apartment building. It was on fire, smoke was rolling off of it. 

You ran over. There was a woman fighting off some firefighters and yelling. "My baby is still in there! Let me go!" You felt something wash over you. All common sense left you as you ran into the building. "Where are you going?!" Ai yelled at you. You ignored him and kept going.

You were able to get in without being stopped. You heard a baby crying from above. You ran upstairs. You tried to open the door but it wasn't working. You kicked at the door and it fell apart. You saw the baby in its crib. You went as fast and as careful as you could out of the building. A firefighter called out to you, you handed him the baby and he rushed out.

Ai

He saw the firefighter come out with the child and take it to the doctors waiting. But where was Y/N? He waited a bit longer, you weren't coming out.

You

A support pillar came down on top of you. The flames surrounded you. You felt your fear wash away. You closed your eyes. Your hearing faded away. You no longer needed your breath as the world went black. 

Ai

He pushed through the debris easily. He could still get to her in time. He felt his body begin to overheat. "Hey, you need to get out of here!" A firefighter called out. No. He had to find her. He started desperately digging through the debris. "You need to get out!" The firefighter yelled at him. He pushed one more stone before his system shut down and he passed out.

He woke up in a bed. Shining probably took him from the firefighters. He heard the door open. It was Shining, he had a grim look on his face. "Mr. Mikaze I have some bad news. We were able to save you from the fire but Y/N was not so fortunate. "She didn't make it out." Ai said with no emotion. "That is sadly correct." Shining said. He felt a pain that he never had before. The sorrow of losing the one he cared so much for. The agony to know he never got to tell her how he felt. She's gone and the weight of that is like none other he's experience. The one who made him feel like no other. The one who was so precious to him. The one who he loved.

It's been a while, sorry about that. I'm going to try and publish more often. I feel like when I don't publish, I lose contact with my readers.
