"There's your dinner." Madame Pomfrey, placed a tray on my lap. I was feeling much better but although I'd slept all day, I still felt really tired.

"Dumbledore is here with you father." Madame Pomfrey smiled, before heading back to her office.

My father, was he here? No, surely she just meant Malcom.

The door swung open and Lee, Ron and Harry strode in.

"Is my dad here?" I asked sitting up quickly.

"What?" Lee stopped in his tracks.

"Is my dad here or is it just Malcom, because Madame Pomfrey said Father, but she might not have been introduced properly." I told them, running my hands through my hair.

"If your dad's here we won't let him come anywhere near you." Ron rested his hand on my shoulder, staring me dead in the eyes.

"Why not? Why did you think my mum taught me to be a human murder weapon?" I asked him, glancing over his shoulder as Dumbledore and Malcom strode in.

"Well you aren't going to kill- Professor Dumbledore, nice to see you." Ron got flustered, nodding to the headmaster.

"I'm just showing him the way." Dumbledore nodded to me, before glancing at Harry and leaving hurriedly.

"Nice to see you again, of course it would be better under different circumstances, but... You get the jist of it." He stammered.

"Well, Malcom this is Ron, Lee and Harry. Everyone, Malcom." I pointed to each if the boys. Malcom gave each of them a small wave each.

"So, y/n how're you feeling?" He asked sitting down in a chair beside me.

"Tired, but other than that, fine. Why couldn't my mum come?" I asked him.

"I wouldn't let her. She was too angry that someone did this to you that I thought she might..." He slowed down not sure whether to carry on or not.

"Smart." I nodded, beginning to eat whatever type of red meat that was on the plate infront of me.

"So, do you know who did it?" He asked, leaning forward in his chair.

"Oh yeah, Filch said something about knowing but that he wouldn't tell me." I said turning to the boys.

"We'll figure something out." Lee shrugged.

"Did you choose a ring yet?" I asked, turning back to Malcom.

"Oh, no. I thought you were going to help." He said, tripping over his words a little.

"Yeah, but if you see something that's right, you don't need my opinion." I told him, he nodded.

"How many nights do you think you can keep mum out the house, while your proposing?" I asked hopefully.

"Three at most, why?" He asked suspiciously.

"This lot are staying for new years, I just need to know how quickly I need to clean up." I shrugged.

"Did you just snitch on yourself?" Harry asked from behind me.

"No, Harry. I'm keeping Malcom's secret, it'd only be smart for him to keep mine." I looked at Malcom, his face was hard to read, like a mixture of approval and confusion. The door swung open as the twins strolled in Ginny behind them

"We heard there was a visitor!" The twins said at the same time. Malcolm smiled at me a little, but his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"George, Fred and Ginny." I pointed to each of them.

"How's dad?" Fred asked, plopping himself down on the end of the bed and staring up at Malcom, who was visibly uncomfortable.

"Your dad, um he was fine the last time I saw him." He nodded.

"Where's Hermione?" Harry asked.

"Library, she thinks she might be able to help with figuring out what they both touched." Ginny told him.

"Hermione, she's the smart one. She likes books, the one in the purple dress." Malcom seemed to be marking of a checklist in his mind.

"Purple dress?" Ron whispered in my ear so loudly that it defeated the purpose of whispering.

"He saw a photo of us all, at the yule ball." I explained, nodding to Malcom. It was moments like these where I realize how much my mum must mean to him. He memorized my friends and what they were like, just so that we would get along.

"Neville, that's who I've not met right?" He double checked, noticing I knew what he was up to.

"Neville and Luna are looking for all their missing things, they do it every Thursday." Ron frowned, noticing how odd it was to have a scheduled search party for anything you had lost throughout the week.

"I brought my wizard chess because I forgot how bad you are at wizard chess." Ron put the box on my bed shaking his head.

"I'll play." Malcom said quickly. Ron looked back at me before moving to the table to set up wizard chess.

"How was detention?" Harry asked sitting in the chair Ron had just left.

"Shit! I forgot." I groaned rubbing my forehead.

"You're never getting out of that one." Fred laughed, walking over to watch the game of chess.
