"How long has he been here?"

"Just over a week... he does not dare to approach. He stays at a safe distance. Something is hindering him."

"I see. This is where our clan comes to find peace so it is understandable that he is here."

"Approach him with care. He is deeply troubled."

The sun was slowly setting over the Nepalese mountains. The air was getting ever colder and a few stars were starting to shine through the darkening sky.

The husk of a man was standing alone, looking out over the mountain lake in front of him. His gaze was everywhere and nowhere as he stood there until the sun had completely vanished.

Despite the temperature dropping to almost below freezing, he let the fabric on his shoulder fall along with the rest of his clothes. He was now standing naked under the full moon that was the only source of light, causing the water of the lake to shimmer.

The wind was still and it was almost completely silent. Unusual for this location, but there was almost something heavenly about this night.

Goosebumps formed on the man's skin, but it did not seem to bother him. His eyes still fixated on the distance, looking out into nothingness.

"Death before dishonor..."

Slowly he walked forward into the lake, letting his feet being submerged by the water, followed by his ankles, knees and stomach. The cold water sent chills through his body, but he kept walking until everything but his head was hidden from the night.

He took a deep breath with a tear running down his tormented cheek.

"Death before dishonor," he repeated before submerging himself completely.

With a few strokes he swam out until his feet could no longer touch the ground. There he turned around, tilted his head backwards, exhaled and let himself sink through the cold and uncaring liquid.

His pitch black hair floated upwards towards the surface and small bubbles of air escaped from his mouth and around his body. The blue light caused the dragon tattoo on his shoulder to shine brightly under the water.

He closed his eyes. The torment he had been through ravaged his mind. The humiliation, the pain... the hands on his body... the taste. He couldn't make it go away. Night and day it tortured him. He could not sleep, he could not eat, meditation did little to help him... it was consuming him and it had to stop.

He was giving himself back to earth the same way he had been granted life... naked and surrounded by the calm embrace of water.

Although his mind refused to let him rest, the water muffled any sounds coming from the outside, and that alone gave him a sense of relaxation though it was almost pitiful from every perspective.
