This story is the continuation of Behind closed doors so if you haven't read that one I suggest to start there. This novel is more storydriven than BCD and also involves more focus on the other characters in the Overwatch family.
The story picks up...
"I know it is frustrating... and worrisome... we all feel the same."
"He should have gotten better now... why is he not improving?"
"I do not know. We are running tests, trying to figure out what we can do."
"I know... but he is also being stubborn! He is not telling us what is really going on"
"You know how he is... and besides that, his body has been through a lot. Being out in the rain like that... we are doing all we can for him."
"I know, I know... I am truly grateful for everything you have done... I just..."
Torbjörn heard the voices through the door and knocked before letting himself in.
"Torbjörn!" Ana greeted him. "Come join us for a cup of tea."
"No thanks," Torbjörn said. "That fancied-up water I can do without... is there any coffee available?"
Ana smiled.
"I will get you a cup," she said.
Torbjörn held up his claw just as Ana was about to stand up.
"No, no, I'll get some in a minute," he said. "What are you two discussing?"
"The recovery," Ana said with a sigh and sat back down.
"Ah," Torbjörn said. "Well, from what I have been told, it has been quite the ride he has been through... maybe some more rest here in a safe and calm environment will do the trick!"
"Higher! Higher!"
"Is he bothering you?" Torbjörn asked.
Hanzo bounced one of Torbjörn's youngest children up and down on his lap while smiling kindly at him.
"No," Hanzo said. "The smiles of the young ones brings me great joy in these trying times... it is truly needed. It reminds me of an easier life... innocent... and I must say, this one reminds me a lot of my brother when he was a child."
He ruffled the little one's hair.
"You little rascal."
Torbjörn chuckled.

"Well, he seems to have taken to you... as have the rest of the bunch," Torbjörn said while scratching his neck with his claw.
"You have a wonderful family," Hanzo kindly said.
"At least when they are sleeping," Torbjörn muttered.
Ana huffed.
"Nah, I am very blessed," Torbjörn continued. "But if it wasn't for Ingrid I don't know how I would do it..."
