This story is the continuation of Behind closed doors so if you haven't read that one I suggest to start there. This novel is more storydriven than BCD and also involves more focus on the other characters in the Overwatch family.
The story picks up...
Hanzo nodded for the two to walk further down the cellar. He could hear Genji's desperate pleads as they walked, but chose to ignore them.
"So you decided to follow us?" Hanzo asked.
"As you knew I would."
Hanzo exhaled softly.
"True, I interpreted the piece of fabric you put on my hand that you most likely would," he replied.
He took Jesse's hand in his.
"I have missed you," he continued.
"I have missed you too," Jesse replied.
"You look... different...," Hanzo said a bit unsure. "How come?"
"To not be recognized," Jesse replied.
Hanzo smirked.
"Well, I think the hat gives you away... but I do like the idea," he said.
He looked at Jesse who now sported dark clothes and a skull handkerchief covering his mouth. His brown messy hair was now white and his eyes were glowing in green.

"And the others?" Hanzo asked.
"Outside town," Jesse replied. "Ready to help if needed. Everyone is there, apart from Jack, Gabriel and Angela."
Hanzo nodded slowly a few times as he pondered.
"I just do not know," he said as he shook his head. "I appreciate the effort... from all of you, but I cannot take you along for this mission."
He put a hand on Jesse's shoulder as he looked the cowboy in the eye.
"This is too dangerous," he continued. "And with yo-"
Jesse removed the handkerchief, showing a device on the inside. Hanzo looked confused as the cowboy once more tied the fabric over his mouth.
"It is a silencer," Jesse explained. "If I cough, it will make no sound. It is also connected to these tubes..."
He motioned in front of his armor.
"...which provides me with medicines, prescribed by Angela, Ana and Winston. Energy boosts, vitamins etc."
Hanzo lowered his eyebrows.
"I understand...," he said.
He looked the cowboy up and down.
"Why the serious demeanor though?" he asked.
"I am focused," Jesse said. "This is important. We should get going."
Hanzo had to admit that he was impressed by the consideration Jesse and the others had put into this. He was still not sure about bringing Jesse along though.
