Mood: Castle of glass - Linkin Park

Angela was outside, working in her vegetable garden. She had a smile on her face as she wiped her forehead. The little plot of land provided the family with some much needed vitamins and the various vegetables were coming along nicely.

She looked over to the fields where Gabriel and Jack were working. Everything was calm and she felt relaxed with the two of them being out there alone.

She was going to make a nice dinner this evening. A stew, Swiss specialty. She rubbed her ever growing baby bump and then grimaced as she received a kick.

"I know you are in there," she said with a giggle. "You do not have to kick me so hard! Feisty... just like your father."

She grunted as she pushed herself standing. The extra weight caused some struggle, but she enjoyed every moment of it. For once she actually had time to just enjoy her pregnancy.

As her phone started buzzing, she ran inside.

"Really? Are you sure? That is excellent news! Thank you so much! No... I need to purchase some supplies... but I can get started! Thank you. Say hello to Echo, Lena and the others from me!"

Her smile widened as she put the phone down. She had been correct. The pattern was there. She giggled again and rolled her eyes. That note... so simple, but that was all that it had taken for her to put the pieces together. She could not wait to tell the men.

Her smiled dimmed as she saw them returning. Gabriel was carrying Jack in his arms. The worry took over and she rushed back outside.

"What happened?"

"Tired... he fell," Gabriel replied.

Angela shook her head.

"Put him to bed," she ordered. "I will provide him with some extra fluids... and vitamins."

She sat beside the bed, helping Jack drink water with a mix of vitamins and medications.

"Did he hurt you?" she asked as she stroked Jack's hair.

Jack shook his head.

"No... it was nothing like that," he said with a tired grunt as he put his head down on the pillow. "I just got dizzy and fell."

"Your forehead is warm," Angela said. "Could be exhaustion or a fever... nevertheless, I need you to rest. Gabriel can finish up the work."

Jack rubbed his eyes and grunted once more.

"How is your vision?"

"Blurry..."

Jack sounded defeated, but at least he did not argue regarding resting.

Gabriel knocked on the doorframe and stepped inside.

He looked at Jack who looked back at him.

"You will have to manage," Jack grunted. "I am not in the mood. Feed... then leave me alone."

Gabriel nodded. He looked worried as he walked up to the bed.

"You can do it," Angela said encouraging.

As Gabriel bit into Jack's wrist that was becoming ever more scarred from not being allowed to heal properly in between feedings, Angela kept stroking the soldier's hair.

"Winston called," she calmly said. "I think I have figured out the right components of your respective treatments..."

Jack did not reply. He closed his eyes and focused on getting through the pain. Gabriel was so consumed by his desire for blood that he did not hear Angela talking.
