"Have you managed to access Athena yet?" Moira asked impatiently with her hands clasped behind her back.

"Not yet," a Talon researcher responded. "We managed to locate the transmitter but it is tightly secured by a high-tech lock. None of our scientists can seem to disable its failsafe system."

Moira huffed, clearly displeased.

"It seems as if the jumped-up ape managed to do something right... for once," she said in a snarky voice. "Very well then, you shall keep working on accessing it, but it seems as if we have to execute plan B to improve our chances of succeeding."

She turned to one of her medical assistants.

"How is he responding to the therapy?" she asked.

"He is fighting back... which only makes it more painful for him, but we are steadily making progress in breaking through. He should be ready shortly...once his armor is repaired," the doctor replied.

Moira smirked.

"He has always been a most stubborn fool," she said. "It is indeed welcome though that we are making progress at a considerable pace. Continue researching the inner workings of his armor. It will serve as an excellent template for our newly indoctrinated assassins... especially now when we have been served the opportunity to study it in every detail."

The doctor nodded, "Noted."

"Are you quite sure about subject 24 being ready for field testing this early though?" the doctor asked. "He is still showing clear signs of instability and interpreting our orders."

Moira raised an eyebrow.

"Are you questioning my judgement?" she asked in a clearly surprised tone which seethed with condescension and arrogance.

The doctor quickly shook her head.

"No... no, not at all," she quickly said.

"I did not believe that you would either," Moira concluded. "Now, get back to work. It will soon be time for the next session."

The doctor quickly turned around to leave the room.

"Oh, and by the way...," Moira said making the doctor stop dead in her tracks. "The sheep is not recovering as well as the last time. Provide him with some sustenance... we do not want him to fail us again before my research is completed."

"Of course...," The doctor confirmed before leaving.

...

Hanzo was woken up by a bucket of cold water being poured over his head.

He gasped and coughed from the water down his throat restricting his breathing.

A Talon soldier unlocked his ankle, then grabbed him by the hair and dragged him to a corner of the room where he was once again hosed down.

To Hanzo's relief, Gabriel was not in the room with them.

"Filth...," the soldier muttered as he watched Hanzo's bruised naked body curl up in the corner.

Hanzo held up his hands to try and shield himself from the harsh stream of cold water aimed at him, but still desperately tried to catch some water to satisfy his mouth which was as dry as sandpaper. His head was throbbing and the surroundings were spinning through his blurry vision.

He was exhausted, weak and overall completely drained. Every cell in his body was aching and he wanted nothing more than to fall asleep. Would he ever feel the comfort of a warm bed again... or just some clothes?
