Hanzo woke up the next morning with a sigh of satisfaction. Jesse's arm was wrapped tightly around his body along with the warm serape. Hanzo inhaled deeply. Although there was a smell of sweat and dirt, since Jesse had not taken a bath yesterday after all, the scent of Jesse himself came through and gave Hanzo a feeling of tranquility.

He gave out a light chuckle thinking about the situation he was in, all while stroking the cowboy's arm. He could never have imagined himself ending up like this, embraced by a man in the American desert. Hanzo had never been attracted to men, not in the slightest, but then this train wreck came along and just like a horrible car accident, he could not take his eyes off of him. Despite Jesse constantly getting on Hanzo's nerves, he had something that the Shimada could not resist. Somehow he had managed to pierce right through his shell and occupy his heart and soul.

Hanzo had a light smile on his face but it quickly dimmed as he stroked Jesse's arm with more determination. He had a hard time grasping that Jesse was actually still alive, given his personality and lack of discipline. Maybe it was luck... but luck tends to run out.

Hearing Jesse's soft breathing behind him almost made him feel bad for what he was about to do. Almost.

Hanzo carefully undid himself from Jesse's arm and sat up. He grabbed the cowboy's hat and hit it a few times to get the dust off. He held it close to his chest as he pondered about everything they had been through and what laid ahead.

Suddenly the serape was wrapped over his head and he received another loving hug.

"Mornin' darlin'," Jesse said in a growly voice and treated Hanzo to a peck on the cheek. "What are you doing up, it is still too early."

Hanzo huffed with a smile on his face as Jesse yawned and stretched

Hanzo huffed with a smile on his face as Jesse yawned and stretched.

"We have work to do," Hanzo replied. "Better to sta-"

Before he could finish his sentence he found himself grabbed by the waist and pulled back to the ground, with Jesse spooning him from behind.

"We can do that later," Jesse said with another yawn. "Let's sleep in today."

The cowboy wrapped his body around Hanzo to hold him in place as he took a deep breath followed by a sigh of pure calmness as he got treated to Hanzo's scent.

The audacity of this man...

Hanzo grumbled to himself for being treated with such lack of respect.

"No... No, we will start now!" Hanzo demanded and started squirming to free himself from Jesse's hug.

He managed to slip out of Jesse's grip, with some struggle, and was up on his feet immediately, blowing a few strands of hair out of his face that Jesse had managed to mess up trying to hold him down.
