Part 94 - I Do

"Are you ready?"

Jesse took a deep breath with a nervous but happy smile on his face. He was fiddling with his tie that he could not seem to get in order. To reduce his stress, Gabriel removed it and replaced it with his bowtie, easy to attach, before putting his hands on Jesse's shoulders, rubbing them in a supportive manner.

"As ready as I will ever be," Jesse replied in a trembling voice. "My heart is beating so fast right now..."

Gabriel smiled a kind smile.

"You got this. Soon you will have everything you ever wanted and more... and he is waiting for you. That Shimada is one lucky son-of-a-b... gun."

Gabriel gave Jesse a long and warm hug with Jesse trembling in his arms. Jesse truly had everything he had ever wanted or had ever dared dream of. Everyone he loved was here. And the one person he loved the most... yes, he was waiting for him, just a few steps away.

It still felt completely surreal to have Gabriel standing in front of him like this, looking proud and happy, all that Jesse had ever wanted from and for him.

"You deserve it...," Gabriel calmly said. "You truly do, kiddo."

Gabriel straightened up and offered his arm while correcting his hat. Jesse chuckled a few times as he hooked onto it, feeling like a proper bride.

"Thank you again for doing this," Jesse said. "I am not sure I would be able to do it without you... my legs feel like spaghetti."

Gabriel snorted.

"I would bridal carry you down that aisle if I had to," he said. "Or over my shoulder... as I have ma-"

His cheeky remark was interrupted by music playing. 'Raise me up', a fitting song chosen by the happy couple.

Gabriel smiled a wide smile.

"Shall we?"

Jesse smiled back and nodded a few times. He did a sharp exhale.

"Let's do this."

They took a few steps forward, rounding the corner. Everyone turned their heads and stood up.

The wedding was held outside in Angela's back garden. It was a sunny day with a light breeze with the mountains and the lake framing the scene.

Chairs had been placed in two sections with an aisle in the middle and they were decorated with flowers found around the area, with white fabric wrapped around them. With everything happening so fast, everyone, including neighbors, had gotten together to help out with the occasion, lending chairs, tables, food and decorations. A mishmash of different things, but for this wedding and for this group of people it was perfect. It was who they were, a mishmash of different people.

The Deadlock gang had placed themselves in the back, followed by the rest of the townspeople on the left side. Tiki was standing by Larry's side and Nancy was on his other side, wiping her tears with a handkerchief.

On the right side of the aisle was everyone in Overwatch, the bigger guests having taken seats as far to the right as possible to allow the rest to be able to see. Ana and Reinhardt together and Torbjörn with Ingrid.

Angela's piano had been carried outside and at the keyboard was Jack, playing the beautiful tune that accompanied Gabriel and Jesse down the aisle. For this day all differences were set aside and they all united to support the happy couple.

Jesse took a few steps and saw the back of the love of his life in a grey suit with a black Japanese overcoat. Next to him was their mutual best man, Genji, who gave Jesse a proud nod. As Hanzo turned around, a tear trickled down Jesse's cheek. He was so handsome.
