When the hell was that damn symbol going to leave her head?
She was starting to think she would look like a baboon for the rest of her life.
No matter what she did, no matter what she thought, the damn symbol wouldn't stop shining its teal-blue light and it was driving Violet insane. She had done about everything she could think in her panicking mind, tried all the methods even if the pain it brought was more unbearable than the symbol. But regardless of what she tried, whether that was hitting her head against the wall till it threatened to fall, it still sat there probably shining brighter than before, taunting her failure once more.
She had been trying to make the thing appear and disappear a couple of times now, successfully achieving to do it five times before. However this sixth time, no matter what she did, whether it was repeating what she had done before to make them fade away, the mark just wouldn't go away. It was past midnight and all Violet wanted to do was go to bed till, her eyes dropping more as the hours went by, but she couldn't do that before she made the thing disappears off her forehead for good. The girl just couldn't understand why it didn't just simply leave, she wasn't even using her powers anymore and she had done it before; plus, if it appeared once then it meant it could leave again, right?

She just sat in front of her mirror, closing her eyes and opening them again in hopes that once she opened them again, the damn blue symbol would be gone and then she could finally get some rest. Violet was in the point of tears, more than before, now caused by this horrendous thing that was planted above the middle of her brows. The stress and annoyance it was causing to her brain were making her want to cry a river, no matter how lame it would be. She was dreading the fact that in the morning, she would have to step foot out of her room and endure the taunting from all her fellow cadets, the finger-pointing everyone would do to refer to the thing that stood out like a sore thumb in her head. Julian would taunt her even more because that man was bound to bother her for life.
It was so absurd, why the thing couldn't just go away. While it was a cool symbol, as it looked very exotic and rare, Violet didn't know what it meant, having never seen it anywhere in her life before. It was probably an effect caused by the liquids that the Military Police forced into her body, just like her abilities. But there was something deep in her guts that told her that wasn't the case, since it just didn't make any sense. The new-found-abilities part was as believable as it would get, but the thing in her head? That just didn't add up. How would liquids injected into her body make a symbol light up out of nowhere? If any logic was to make sense, then it would be the one that meant that this thing, this horrible, dreadful thing, was a part of her ever since she took her first breath in this life.

Preoccupied with other things, no longer focusing on getting rid of the symbol, Violet felt her skin sting, a burning sensation where the symbol laid. She brought her hand to her face to try and soothe the pain away, getting a closer look to the mirror to see why her forehead burned. Where once a blue insignia covered most of the area, she noticed the weird-blue-hieroglyphic slowly fade in places, her soft S/C skin returning where it once was covered by the blue-shining thing. And never has a sight as bizarre as that one brought so much joy to Violet Grey. "About damn time, you fucker." Violet whispered, smiling as her mind was finally in peace seeing the dreadful thing go away.
She stood up and made her way to her bed, falling face-first as sleep tried to claim her a long time ago. Positioning her pillows the way she liked them, Violet twisted and turned till she found the right position and covered herself with the thin sheet. As soon as she closed her eyes, sleep claimed her body fast.

The next morning, after checking herself out thousands of times in her mirror to make sure the symbol hadn't appeared back, Violet headed to Hanji's office after she requested a meeting with them. If somebody knew what that symbol could potentially mean, it was them. After all, Hanji's knowledge was superior to anyone she knew, so they were bound to know at least something, a little clue.
Violet didn't even have to knock on the door, as Hanji was waiting excitedly for the ex-assassin right outside their office. "Violet!" The girl waved them a small 'hi' and entered the office right after them, as they signalled her in with a frantic hand. She went directly to the same bed where she had been sitting every time she practised her abilities with the two Captains and looked around the room when she spotted Captain Levi in the room. The man startled her a bit, making her widen her eyes a slight bit. While he was present every time she practised her abilities with Hanji, she didn't expect him to be here for this occasion.
"M-morning, sir."
"Morning, Cadet." He said, leaning against a wall while sipping what Violet knew was his daily tea. "You look like shit."
She scoffed. "Charming as always, I see."
"I just stated what I saw, brat."
She was tempted to answer back, opening her mouth wide, when Hanji came over and gave a warning stare, knowing well enough what sort of mean comment Violet was going to retort to the Captain. "Don't." They said, as they got closer to her face. "He's not in a good mood today."
"Is he ever." She whispered back, raising her brows in amusement.
