"Why are you so calm and collected in a moment like this?"
The answer for that question was also unknown to Violet, as she sat down on the grass under the shade of a tree, waiting for the entirety of Squad Levi to arrive. She had asked all of them to meet her in the exact place she currently was at, without telling them why.
Today was the day where she would tell them the whole truth about her abilities. Violet had felt a rush of spontaneity and decided it was now or never. It was rare for her to be this reckless or to feel such a way, as usually she's very calculated and collected. However, this rush of spontaneity would come in her favour as they only have three weeks left for the mission; and Violet still hadn't told the Squad about an important piece of information that would be key for this mission.
Instead of being a nervous wreck like she had anticipated she'd be the moment this occasion came around, her mind was as clear as the sky and her heart drummed to a neutral beat. It was scary how relaxed she was, how her face showed no sign of regret and instead was her usual resting face. The sight was so unsettling to Julian who, like Violet, thought the girl would be in the middle of a breakdown in front of his eyes.
"I'm more nervous than you are and this whole thing isn't about me." Julian added.
"Gods so now I am supposed to calm you down instead of the other way 'round?" Violet said while slowly patting Julian on the back. Up and down her hand went, trying to sooth the raging-nerves of her dear friend. "Funny, and here I was thinking I would be the one bitching."
Shoving the girl to the side, Julian glared at the girl. "Shut the hell up, Grey. I could vomit right now."
"Please not on my shoes or I'll make you lick them clean." Violet said.
"I will vomit on your shoes just because of that."
"Do that, you little bitch, and you will see some consequences."
The pair continued teasing each other, mainly Violet, as they waited for the Special Operations Squad to come around. They had been waiting for them for five minutes now and they were a no-show.
That was until Captain Levi Ackerman came to Violet's sight as he walked his way towards the two. However, it was only him alone without the audience for the show. "Captain, where is everyone?"
"I apologize for them, I dragged training a bit longer than intended." Levi said, "However, the brats should be here some time soon."
Violet nodded her head and stood up from the ground, patting away the dirt in her pants. Offering her hand to Julian, she pulled him up once his hand wrapped around her smaller one and the two of them turned to the Captain in front of them.
"I'm surprised to see you not shitting your pants right not, cadet."
"I've been saying the exact same thing, sir." Julian said, "Not even with Captain Hanji was Grey the slightest bit nervous."
Violet shrugged as the two men turned to look at her, waiting for an answer. When she didn't give one back, Levi said "How did training go? Four-eyes gave you any trouble?"
"It was the same as always, nothing new." Violet said, "A bit more tiring than usual as we did a few things differently, but not bad."
"I'm sorry I couldn't be there today, had a lot of paperwork to finish."
"You're fine, Hanji told us about it." Violet said, "Plus, I enjoyed not saying your face there even if it's just for a day."
"Tch." Levi said as he slide his hands in both side of his pockets and turned to look at the arriving cadets.
They were all sweaty and clearly exhausted, proof of how brutal training with Levi had been today. Their shirts were drenched in sweat and the baby hairs were glued to their blushy faces, as they walked up to them with hunched backs.
"Took you all long enough." Julian mumbled under his breath, "Longer and I would've passed out."
Violet hold back the giggle that wanted to escape her lips and walked up next to Levi, who instructed the cadets as they came to a stop in front of him. "Oi, listen up brats." He said, "What you're about to hear, you cannot repeat it to anyone outside the Survey Corps, understand? Cannot."
A chorus of exhausted 'yes sir' were the answers of all the cadets as they awaited for the classified information they were not to repeat.
"If I hear any of you brats whisper it to someone else that is not from here, I will personally break your bones." Levi looked to Violet and nodded his head, signalling the girl that the 'stage' was all hers. Taking in a deep breath Violet took a few step forwards, while Levi moved to a side, and looked at all of her teammates in the eyes.
