⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙"Wait, wait, wait." Julian said. "Do that thing again, but faster this time."
And so Violet did, for the seventh time in the whole session. After telling Julian about her abilities, the guy insisted on joining her and the two Captains on the training session for her powers. He was so interested in the whole concept that his friend was capable of doing such extraordinary things and he wanted to see them with his own eyes. Instead of being freaked out, like Violet thought he'd be, he turned out to be beyond supportive and just as much as fascinated as Hanji; it was as if the two of them shared the same mind. Her hand frosted the water even faster than the last time, leaving a deformed ice structure floating on her hand. She had tried to make it even larger than the last time, but it only grew slightly wider but not by a significant and noticeable amount. Julian watched with wide eyes, his mouth slightly opened, and even squealed a little at the sight. He hadn't noticed that Violet had tried to make it bigger just for him, his mind blown away regardless if it was the one-hundredth time his icy blue eyes had seen the sight.Violet's eyes fluttered slightly, the rate that she was utilizing her magic at was more draining than what she had expected, barely able to keep the water frozen. While she was trained to endure using her magic for hours non-stop back when she was a prisoner for the Military Police, today's training had forced her to use her magic at a faster pace than she was accustomed to, which required much more energy from her drained body. "How about that thing where you turn anything into gold, can you do--"
"That's enough, brat." Levi's said, a harsh tone accompanying his words. "You're going to kill her if you keep making her use her energy like that." Julian looked back at his friend, a concerned frown covering his face. He indeed saw that Violet was barely keeping her eyes open, a slightly paler complex on her face that wasn't there moments ago. "Oh shit, I'm sorry Grey."
She waved a hand around, dismissing the claim. "It's fine. I'm good." Her voice was barely above a whisper, no matter how she tried to sound strong.
"You should go to bed, Violet. Get some rest." Hanji said, offering a glass of water.
She took the glass in her hands and gulped down all the water. "Thank you, Hanji. But I'm fine, we can continue."
"Tch, stop being a pain and go to bed." Levi said. "That's an order, cadet."
Violet turned to look at Levi, narrowing her eyes in annoyance. "You have no rights using your title against me."
"He can and he did, Grey." Julian said while starting to pick her up from the bed where she was sitting. "You heard the man, let's get you to bed."Before he got the chance to pick the girl up, Levi's voice cut them off. "Oi, put her down and listen. We have something to tell you." Julian gently put the girl back down to the bed and turned to look at Captain Levi Ackerman. "What's up?" Violet asked.
"There will be an expedition in about two months from now." Levi started. "And we are thinking that this mission would be a perfect opportunity to put your abilities on the field." Hanji added. "We are yet to plan it better but we think your powers could be a great salvation for humanity, if this whole thing goes to plan."
Violet noticed how Hanji avoided saying 'weapon' and instead said 'salvation', which Violet appreciated more than the Captain knew. She was tired of being known or used as a weapon, being such things for almost all of her life, and Hanji knew that from the many times Violet had told them the misery that word brought her; so for them to make that change was truly such a kind thing on their part. "It might be reckless, but we think there is a high chance of success if we play our cards right." Hanji continued.
"So what do you think, brat?" Levi asked. The girl didn't mind the plan whatsoever. In fact, she had contemplated such a thought once before, when she couldn't sleep at night and all she could do was stare at her ceiling and think about anything that came to her mind. While she also thought it could be reckless and potentially a fatal thing, not only for her but her entire squad, there was a high chance of success and a new way to get rid of the threat that the titans were. It was a risk worth taking, one she was willing to do. "I guess we will never know unless we try, right." She said.
Hanji squealed at the answer and dropped all their things on the spot. "I got to tell Erwin that the plan is moving forward." They said, while frantically trying to get the door to open.
"Tch." Was all Levi said, while the two friends just looked at each other with amused faces.
