She hated being here.
She hated that she had to see many people from the Military Police walking around the place and taking a seat somewhere so near her, so close to her reach. She felt uncomfortable to her very core, her posture stiff and alert clear to everyone who bothered looking closely at her. It was so, so bad. Violet wanted nothing more but to leave this place, be somewhere far away from these monsters where she knew she would not be hurt again. It was hard not lashing out at every single sound or movement her eyes caught from people using that uniform that plagued her mind, hard not to scream at them to back away, to not hurt her once more. She could still feel their hands on her body, hear their taunting laughter as they whipped her back, lash after lash; could still feel the warm blood ceaselessly running down her back, pooling around her bare legs tainting them red. She could see, hear and feel all of that vividly, could still remember everything as if was just yesterday. And it was taking a lot in her not to break, to not let her tears run wild and let her breathing escalate from the panic she was feeling like it wanted to do. She wasn't sure if the pure agony running through her body was clear in her E/C eyes, but it was all she could feel at the moment.

She tried putting her attention somewhere else, to calm her mind by focusing on her anger at the man next to her. She was at the front row beside Levi and Erwin, next to the two men who gave her a reason to be mad at them. She hadn't directed a word at either ever since she set foot in the place, hadn't bothered to even talk to them past their greetings as her anger was stronger than the need to put it past them. But it was hard focusing on that anger when her mind wanted to be aware of everyone around her, to be alert of the potential danger she could be in being so close to the people who made her life hell for four long years. But she was trying, would make herself focus on it so that her legs would not act on their own and make her flee.
Her neck snapped to her right as the doors to the courthouse opened and in came Eren Jaeger, followed by two Military Police cadets pushing him to the centre of the room. They made him kneel to the ground as they slid in a rod behind his back, chaining him to the ground. She frowned, shaking her head slightly. She thought that chaining him to the ground was doing too much; while the kid's abilities could possess a threat considering it's all new to him, having his hands chained was enough. He would not be a threat in a court full of trained cadets, ready to kill him at any wrong movement the kid made. Although she believed that having Eren only under Levi's care was wrong and a terrible idea, she thought that having the kid on their side was a good idea. He would a great asset in this never-ending battle against the Titans, could be the key to saving the world. He would be everything and more, but right now it was all the matter of learning how to control his powers and how to use them for the better good; then they could think about how in the gods name could they save the world.

"You've got a big mouth, swine." Levi said, "Who's to say the titans will sit by and wait for the gates to be sealed?"
She hadn't heard the commotion going on, had been too busy inside her mind while analysing the building for a way out in case everything went to shit. She hadn't heard what was going on ever since Eren had come in and was too chained to the ground. She turned her head to Levi as he continued to talk. "The 'we' you're talking about only refers to the friends you grow fat with, no?"
Her eyes left Levi as she turned her attention back to Eren, frowning as she saw him play with his chains, trying to find relief from them. She knew that horrible feeling all too well, had learned to get used to it as she had them on her wrists for the whole time she was tortured by the Military Police. She felt bad for the kid. He was only fifteen years old and the world was already being a pain to him, being much tougher than he deserved. She imagined how foreign his whole life most feel, how strange it was to find himself in a courtroom where people were fighting whether he should stay alive or be killed on sight. It didn't make any sense to her, did not sit well with her at all, that people were deciding such fate for a kid. For a kid who did not ask for these powers to run through his veins.

"I object!" Nile Dawk, the Commander of the Military Police, said, "I believe these comments are greatly coloured by her personal feelings." His comment caught her attention once more.
"Do we know that she's human?"
"That's right! Just to be safe, we should dissect her!"
Violet let out a sarcastic laugh. Somehow the Military Police and the other idiots who sided with them managed to get a young girl involved. She found it insane that just because the girl, Mikasa Ackerman, had a history with Eren Jaeger they were calling her a monster too. They were desperately looking for a reason to get rid of the kid and were willing to get innocent people involved; were willing to spill more blood to achieve what they wanted. It made her blood boil even more, made it reach a temperature that had poison leaving out of her mouth. "If they consider these two monsters, wait till they found out about me, damn fools." She muttered, wanting nothing more but to launch her furry at them.
Levi side-eyed her, her words catching his attention. "Don't say a damn thing, Grey. They can't have to you, too."
"I wasn't going to say shit, Levi. I'm not a fool, it was rhetoric."

He was about to say something back when Eren started screaming at the court. It made them both snap their heads back to the boy, eyes narrowing as shouts and more shouts left his lips. They both knew that if he continued like that, displaying that violent behaviour, his head would be blown out before he could utter another word. She knew it even more when her eyes caught the movement of hands going to their guns, but before she could do something about it, Levi had kicked Eren brutally in the face. She hadn't even felt him leave, but there he was beating Eren senseless without ever missing once. It was hit after bone-crunching hit, Eren's face and body becoming a bruised field. No one in the court did something to stop Levi, just kept watching as more blood was spilt and kicks were delivered. Levi was being merciless, beating Eren as much as he could. She understood why he did it, had the same idea in mind as him, but it did not mean that she liked it. It was a rather awful sight to watch but it was what it had to be done.
Erwin understood the same message as she did, as he took this opportunity and stepped forward and addressed the court. "Sir, I have a proposal." Erwin raised his hand, "I propose that Eren Jaeger should be entrusted to Squad Leader Levi and Violet Grey. Captain Grey's care will be secondary, though."
Her eyes widen at that. The matter had never been discussed with her, in fact, Erwin had let her know that watching Eren under Levi's control would be her punishment. It was still her punishment, however, as her care was only secondary, meaning that she won't get a hold of him unless Levi directly told her. But it still puzzled her greatly as to why Erwin had made that decision and why hadn't he told her.

"You're going to put a monster under the control of another monster." A cadet from the Military Police said. Violet's eyes narrowed as she looked at him, a deadly look taking over her. "Violet Grey is the Silent Assassin, a killer, an assassin. She has killed thousands, more than you can imagine. She had a reign of terror in the Underground and was feared here in the above. Don't let her appearance fool you just because she has the wings of freedom on her back."
Violet took a step forward, eyes trained on the cadet whose mouth had spilt his death wish. Her aura had turned deadly, eyes shining with an invitation to death. It was a scary sight to behold, as she had become the very incarnation of every devil that existed in every prayer book the world held. "And don't let it fool you that underneath all that Military Police uniform is a massive idiot who is all bite but no bark." She seethed, "I'd be careful with what you say, cadet. After all, I'm still the Silent Assassin underneath my wings of freedom and it would not be smart of you to underestimate what I am capable of. You have heard just exactly what I'm capable of, what I do to those I set myself to kill, and you just invited yourself to be treated to the show."
"You are a monster, Violet Grey, a monster--"

"Enough! Control your cadets Commander Dawk." The judge said, eyes narrowing in annoyance. He turned his head to Levi and Violet, eyes jumping between the two, and said, "Can you two do it?" His eyes shone with the question, waiting for a response. Violet only nodded her head, looking him in the eyes. Levi turned to look at her and then at the judge and said, "I'm certain I could kill him."

"That was terrible." Hanji said as they cleaned Eren's wounds with a cotton ball, "It hurts, right?"
"A little," Eren answered, pressing a pad on his face.
"I'm sorry, Eren. I hope you understand why it had to be done." Violet said, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. "I promise Levi won't hit you like that unless necessary, you have my word."
"Thank you, Captain."
She offered him a small smile. "Violet is fine, kid. You're not under my care completely." She took a seat next to him and cleaned the blood on his hands, passing the cloth as gently and carefully as she could. He certainly was a tough kid, taking the hits and not complaining afterwards. The gods know that if Levi or anyone laid a hand on her like that, she would not be too civil.

"I'm sorry, too, Eren. But thanks to that, we had you turned over to us." Erwin said, crouching in front of him and extending his hand, "You have my respect. I look forward to working with you."
Eren's eyes widen, his green orbs full of surprise and admiration. He extended his hand and grasped Erwin's with his own. "Yes, sir! Thank you!"
Violet smiled at the interaction before her eyes met Levi's who was leaning against the wall. She narrowed her eyes at him, a silent interaction passing through the two. Apologize, Levi.
Tch. I will, you brat.
Her eyes still narrowed as she saw him walk over to Eren, aware of every one of his movements. He sat down opposite where she was, next to Eren, sliding his hand against the top of the couch. He crossed his legs and gave Eren a side glance. "Hey, Eren..."
Eren was startled, eyes closing shut, prepared to receive a hit. Once he noticed no punch or kick was coming, he allowed his eyes to open. Violet placed an encouraging hand on his shoulders, letting him know she was there in case Levi tried something. "Yes, sir?" His voice trembled the slightest bit.
"Do you resent me?"
"N-no...I understand why it was necessary. Violet also told me why."
He hummed. "That's good."

"But you took it a little far," Hanji said.
Eren turned to look at them, a confused frown on his face. As everyone turned to look at Hanji, Levi took this opportunity and turned his head to Violet, eyes meeting with hers. Are you happy now?
It was the least you could do, Levi. He's just a kid.
That's not what I meant. Are you still mad at me?
But Violet did not answer back, she took her eyes off him and turned to Hanji. "What do you mean?" She asked.
"He lost a tooth." They said, extending their hand with the tooth on their palm. "See?"
"Don't pick that up...It's creepy." Levi said.

Violet and Eren just stared at the tooth intently, Violet grimacing internally at the fact that Levi had kicked him hard enough to make the kid lose a tooth. She ruffled his hair slightly, seeing that he seemed to be all over the place, his eyes putting in display the disarray of emotions that he was feeling at the moment.
"Hey, Eren..." Hanji said, "Let me see inside your mouth."
"Leave the kid alone, Hanji. He's been through enough." Violet said.
"It's not for something bad, Violet! I just want to take a look."
Eren hesitantly opened his mouth, angling his head up to allow Hanji a better look at his cavern. Hanji moved their head a bit forward to look inside and let out a surprised gasp. Violet and Levi frowned at that, Violet turning her head to see Eren. Hanji's eyes were wide, which made everyone in the room turned silent.

"The tooth....It's already grown back."
