"Levi. Can you stop?" She sighed through her nose, "Please, can you talk to me? You don't have to shut me out."
Levi Ackerman did not stop. The raven-haired man kept on raging as he walked through the hallways that led to their rooms; would be destroying everything in his way if it was not for the little self-control that was left in his body. It was like those scenes in those stupid romance books that Violet would spend hours devouring in the comfort of her room; the ones where the girl ran away from the boy who only wanted her by his side after all the chaos made that fairytale that blinded their eyes crash down and bring them back to reality. But with them, it was the other way around-- and there was no chaos that divided them. No, it was just feelings that the other wanted to drown in themselves to let the pain tell them that this was true, that it really did happen, that split them apart like this.
He had been like this ever since the moment they left the woods when he shook her awake and that was all he said to her.
Violet grabbed him by the arm, bringing him to a stop, and tightened her grip around him in fear that he would leave her grasp. "Stop, Levi. Please. Don't shut me out."
The sun was not even close to coming up, but it was morning and they had just gotten back. Violet was tired and all she wanted was to throw her body on the bed and rest for the little time she had left. But she wouldn't be able to rest well without knowing that Levi was okay. Her mind would simply not allow her to if she did not see him happy.
She sighed. "Fine, come on. Let's go." She dragged him into her room and made him sit on her bed, pushing him down. "You don't want to talk? Fine. But you're not leaving my room until you get some sleep. The gods know you hardly get any."
"It's not necessary, Violet." He grumbled. The first thing he had said to her after some time. And, of course, it was some form of argument against what she had to say.
"I am not going to fight with you right now, Levi. Get on the bed."
She thought he might actually fight her, for he did not obey her straight away. Thought that he might take the anger coursing through his veins out on her, that he would pick a petty fight with her just to alleviate some of the rage, but he did not. For once, Levi did as she said.
He laid down on her bed, stiff as a log as his head hit the pillow. Violet rested on the edge as Levi's grey eyes closed in an attempt to catch some sleep as she had said.

He looked so gentle with his eyes closed, all the stern lines in his face disappearing and making him take on a much younger, relaxed look on his face. He looked....in peace. Calm, even. And that made something inside Violet glow with light.
She loved how he looked, how he finally looked a bit in peace when it felt like the world was testing them both all the time. When they could never get a moment of rest as always something came down, requesting their utmost attention and energy.
So seeing Levi Ackerman like this, her Levi Ackerman, truly makes her happy. And so she ran her calloused fingers through his raven hair, her thumb slightly touching the smooth skin of his forehead. He furrowed his brows upon her touch but soon relaxed them when she gently shushed him and continued the movement through his whole head.
She was so gentle, so caring with her movements, not wanting to disrupt his peaceful time while enjoying this intimate touch between the two of them.

Violet hadn't really given that much thought to what they were. What had become of them ever since that kiss. But they both knew, although it had never been spoken, that she was his as much as he was hers.
So in a sense, they were together. They both knew it with every fibre in their being. There was no need for such conversation, for such titles, when they both knew, for a very long time, that their souls belonged together. That they were destined to become what they had between them. There was this...attraction between them that kept pushing them together, regardless of the fact that they both tried their hardest to keep apart. To keep another person from reaching the gates to the purest part of themselves. They feared allowing such a person inside, because they both knew, ever since they met, that they would succeed in conquering each other's heart and becoming someone the other could never, ever live without. They had felt such a thing, had dreamt such a thing, that ever since they were made aware of it, they avoided the other like the plague.
But there was no way of avoiding fate. No way to escape it. So now here they were, two fools deeply and madly in love with the other. There was no one else in this forsaken world for the other--- and they wouldn't have it any other way.
So regardless that they didn't show it, that they were not the most affectionate, Violet Grey and Levi Ackerman loved each other; and that made them so very happy.

"Scoot over, I wanna lay down." She whispered, her hand still running through his raven hair.
He moved his body to the side and she laid beside him, turning her body over so that she could face him. He was laying straight up, back to the bed and eyes closed even though he was still awake. She looked at his face one more time, for a very good time, before closing her eyes, too, to try to get some sleep when Levi spoke. "He's dead." He whispered.
In the quietness of the room, those two words were a powerful punch to her gut. Violet's heart drop down to her stomach and it hit her. It was not because he had talked to Kenny and seen him again after a long time that had him in that mood. No, it had been because he had seen Kenny Ackerman wither away right before his eyes that had put him in that dull, reserved mood.
Kenny had been a big part of Levi's life. Had been the one that had taught him everything he knew, everything that had helped him survive after he had abandoned him as a young child. And while Levi may hold no more love for that man, did not feel the love and appreciation he once felt for him like when he was just a small child, it did not mean that seeing him die did not affect him.

That was why he had been so silent, so distant this way back.
Violet did not bother looking at what had happened to Kenny after Levi came and woke her up, and then left storming without her. But it all made sense now.
And while Violet sucked with comfort, was the most awkward when it came to it, she did not let her mind stop her from wrapping her arms around Levi and bringing him close to her. His chin laid above her head, as she brought her face to his chest and her arms tightened ever so slightly around his toned figure, her lean arms meeting with pure, defined muscle. She could hear his heart beating from where she laid on his chest, could feel the gentle rise and fall of his chest as he took in small breaths. And the melody that his heart and breathing created was so sweet, so nice to her ears that she loved it--- loved it more than she could even describe.
"He could've saved himself, but he didn't...instead....he gave me the syringe. But why?..."
"I can't tell you why exactly he did it, Levi. But that was his last sacrifice...to you." She didn't know what were the correct words to say at the moment. What Levi would want to hear and what her heart truly said. She didn't know, she didn't know and was probably just as confused as Levi was. "For whatever reason he chose, what is done is done and we can't change that. Don't dwell on it too much, okay?" She knew that Levi would not want to hear 'sorries', nor something different. So she held her tongue back when she felt it might slip out. "Don't stress about it, okay, Levi?" She ran her fingers through his hair again, "Try to get some sleep. I'll be here if anything happens, just wake me up if you need me. I won't leave your side."

Levi hummed a gentle tone and nodded his head before he wrapped a blanket around the two and finally tried to sleep for real.Violet hummed back and let the small smile at her lips form, happy to feel him next to her in her arms. "Good night, Levi." She ran a single finger across his lips before saying, "I love you."
"Good night, Violet."
She smiled once more, drowning herself further into Levi's embrace.
And just when Violet thought nothing more was going to happen, that sleep was going to claim them both, Levi said, "I...I love you too, Violet."

Historia Reiss was Queen now.
Queen. What a big and powerful sentiment did a five-letter word carry.
She had gotten crowned early in the morning when Violet and Levi were barely waking up, a busy crowd cheering from below as they admired their youthful and rightful queen take the throne. And in just those few seconds, when the crown was being placed on the small of her head. she became the most important figure in the whole of Paradis Island. At just fifteen.
They had missed completely the ceremony and everything that had come afterwards. But as they walked down the hallway of the building, they met with the new Queen herself followed by the rest of the 104th.

Violet smiled at them all as they came to a stop, remaining near Levi's side.
Levi removed his hand from the small of her back and placed them both at his sides, preferring to not show the kids what went between them to spare themselves from endless teasing. Although he wanted nothing more than to show his claim on Violet Grey, that possessive instinct inside him going feral. He didn't know exactly why he wanted to scream at the top of his lungs, from the highest rooftop on this damn earth, that Violet Grey was his just as much as he was hers. But he really did. Wanted to do it so desperately that it nagged him sometimes. So completely out of his character.
But he was able to push past it as Historia walked up to them, all tense and shaky as if she was nervous. Perhaps the coronation had put her in a fidgety mood. It would explain why she looked like she was about to shit herself as she stopped before Levi and seemed to shake even more.
Violet furrowed her brows, but her smile didn't falter as she looked at the girl with confused eyes. Or amused, she didn't even know herself.

The blond girl kept shaking as she extended her arm and a cry left out her lips.
She came lurching into Levi, arm extended to land a punch wherever she was able to aim. Violet could see the amusement shining in Levi's grey eyes as he shifted on the spot, giving the girl his arm to punch. And so she landed the rather weak hit on his shoulder. But as weak as it was, it seemed that for everyone, it was a huge feat as the kids looked over amazed, gasps and waves of awe coming from their mouths. Violet only laughed at the sight unfolding before her, shaking her head to hide the snorts that left along with the melody of her laugh. "How'd you like that? I'm the Queen!" Historia hollered, pride clear in her tone, "If you have a problem---"

And maybe the world had really turned upside-down because to everyone's surprise, Violet's included, Levi laughed. A rich, smooth, but rather short, laughter ripped out of his throat as his rosy lips stretched into a warm smile.
It made Violet smile even wider, his smile. Seeing him so...free in the past few hours was like a serotonin boost to her spirit.
"Thank you....all of you..." Levi couldn't help smiling.

It was finally time, to seal the wall.
After everything they've been through, it was finally time to close this horrid chapter that the world had forced them to endure. No more broken walls, no more titan infestations, no more losses, no more mourning. It was time to end the chapter and start a new one.

And as Violet stood above the wall, staring at the sunset that was starting to warm the sky with a striking orange view, Violet was relieved. Relieved that soon, all of it would be over. That soon, all the lives that were lost as an awful result of the madness that had set loose, would soon be able to rest, as the mission they heroically gave their lives for was finally coming to an end. They would soon rest forever, their wandering souls finally at peace.
That, that was the new chapter. Finally, everyone would know peace. Would know the freedom that they had been crawling, teeth and nail, for.

Freedom. She wondered how it will finally taste like.
