≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪Historia Reiss is the real Heir to the Throne.
If she was being honest, this was probably the most shocking and unexpected news she had managed to get out of a man through torture. And that is huge considering this was not her first time in the rodeo.
It was crazy. To think that this girl held such huge power just because of the blood that flowed through her veins. No wonder the Order of the Walls was so hellbent on keeping her safe--on keeping her a secret.
With a secret this grand, no wonder they did all these things that had drove her mad with rage. In a way, it was reasonable what they did. But it did not take away from the fact that they were depriving the people of their true ruler, were lying straight to everyone faces to keep a puppet in power. There was nothing in this world, not even this secret they had uncovered, that would justify the lies and betrayals they committed against the very people they had sworn they would serve.
"Speculating based on that, Ymir was a titan wandering alone outside the wall. Bertholdt, Reiner and Annie had a comrade that she ate." Hanji mused, "When a titan eats someone, they don't change back into a human. But what if a titan ate one of Reiner's comrades?"
"They are humans who can transform into titans." Violet looked up at Hanji, "So, in other words, if a titan eats someone with that power, they revert back into humans." Should she continue? What she was about to say next was a huge statement, a big assumption that she had gathered in the past few days, when she laid staring at the wall when sleep wouldn't come to her. To her, it made perfect sense. Sure, while she had not witnessed it first hand, her assumption that is, based on the things that have been happening lately, she wouldn't be surprised if such a thing could even be real. "Which also means that they obtain the power of those they ate..."
Hanji's nod at her statement made her heart skip a beat. "Exactly. Eren has the power to control titans with his scream---"
"---so in that case, Eren is just a vessel who is bound to be replaced..." Julian said. So it was not only her that has that thought nurturing in her head...
"Yes. Basically, if the government has a titan of their own, they'll be the one to eat Eren."
How was it possible that everything got more fucked up with each passing day? It was like the world was finally opening the gates to all hells and releasing every bad possible outcome, just to pay the gods debts. Violet was barely managing to wrap her head around everything that had been happening in this past few days, so adding this to the mix...gods.
"Calm down." Levi took hold of Mikasa, who was about to leave out of the door. The news unsettled her, maybe more than it unsettled the rest. It was clear that Mikasa cared deeply for Eren--maybe more than care. But Levi was right, she needed to calm down. Acting as emotions commanded is never good, was one of the many reasons people died doing reckless decisions all because of following their hearts. "Even if you go in a rampage, they're not going to give Eren back to us. We head to the lands of this Rod Reiss. Get ready to leave at once."✥
"Captains, we bought the supplies."
Jean, Mikasa, Armin and Julian had returned from their trip to the town. Back from getting the materials needed since they were left with pretty much nothing after they were forced to evacuate by the Military Police. They had no idea how long they would have to venture in the woods, but perhaps it might be a couple of days; worst-case scenario was a couple of weeks to months.
Violet just hoped it was not the latter since she dreaded the feeling of insects crawling up her body. She hated insects, disgusted her enough to refuse to sleep on the ground. But she slept on the ground anyways, as there was no other option. But it did not mean she did not hate it with all her guts.
It was safe to say that if she did not get sufficient sleep before, then she was not sleeping a single wink due to the paranoia coursing through her brain. "The Military Police were handing out these." Julian handed Levi the paper. Violet placed her head on Levi's shoulder as the two read, and although it was a serious, serious situation, she had to bite back the cackle that wanted to rupture out of her lips. It was comical how bad the illustration was. So gods damn awful, so far from how Levi Ackerman actually looked. His nose, his eyes, even the shape of his face did not come close to how handsome the man really is. Because in this picture...well, he looked far from good. Her eyes searched for Levi's expression and the man did not look too happy either. He knew how damn awful he looked, too. Gods, wasn't this rich. She would never, ever let him forget this, she swore on the spot. "If this is true, the Scouts will be disbanded."
"I heard they'll be hunting for us tonight," Armin added, standing next to Julian.
"They are also putting guards on all vital roads," Julian continued, "and it's impossible to get through without a pass."
"Captains, what now?" Armin's eye jumped to the two of them.
"If we don't hurry, Eren..."Mikasa started. The information they brought made things more complicated, but it wasn't like it was not expected from the Military Police. They would do anything possible to get them, to catch her. Now that they had both Eren and Historia under their belts, it was only her left. And she knew, deep down, that this hunt was mainly for her. That they pulled this many strings...fuck, they really wanted her back.
"Calm down." Levi said, "They're using a wagon. It'll take at least a day to reach Reiss' territory."
Violet sighed. "We'll use that time to come up with a plan--"
"Captains, I hear footsteps." Sasha cut her short, looking panicky at her right.
Well, fuck.
