≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪Time seemed to slow as Violet flew straight at the Jaw Titan, both blades extended on each of her hands, already tilting them to that angle she loved to hold them in.
She was ready for the kill. Ready to start this mission on revenge--- to avenge all they stole, all they took away--- and end it for good. But she was maybe a good few feet away when hellfire rained on them and her mission switched from going for the kill to avoid being the one killed.
The mass of bullets that came flying from what seemed from every which direction was absurd; and Violet went twisting and turning, dodging and avoiding, to save her skin. Her eyes could not locate somewhere to hide fast enough, not with how fast she seemed to spin to avoid one bullet just to come close to another one soon. She was only able to catch sight of a building nearby when she went crashing onto there, slamming into the window, using her arms as a shield across her face.
A yelp left her mouth as she rolled on the floor, the price of using her arm as a shield costing her the price of having glass shards piercing into her skin.
"Fuck." She hissed, swallowing down her cry. "Fuck."
And to make the pain even more unbearable, she had to remain low on the ground as bullets flew in the air above her, making the pain even worse as pressure pressed the shards deeper into her skin.
It was only when the bullets moved from direction, perhaps assuming she was as good as gone, did Violet get up. She looked at her arm, blood trailing from where the shards were deep-in her skin and grimaced. This was going to hurt like a bitch to get out. But for now, she let them in. It was not the time to die from bleeding out from a wound like this.
She crouched and crawled towards what remained of the window she shattered and peeked through, trying to get a look at what was happening. And maybe it was better if she had remained low because Violet had not wanted to see the sight that beheld her this soon.
Everyone had been awfully right when they described the Cart Titan as an ugly ass shit. Far worse words came to her mind when her E/C eyes fell on the titan, the thing by far the ugliest titan she had seen in her whole life. And that was saying much because she had seen plenty; and there was the Beast Titan, too.And then, from the corner of her eye, she saw Eren go up, surrounded by hardening. Talk about getting revenge, huh.
To add on to everything going on, the ground shook with each violent step that Violet now knew more than well. "Well shit." She muttered, pinching her nose. The Beast Titan couldn't have chosen a better time to show up than now. But that was good, wasn't it? Better to get everything going than wait for the final showdown. And the smirk that grew on her face only got wider as the steps got louder and the earth vibrated to the very core beneath her.
So she got up again and jumped out the window, landing where Levi and the cadets were. She pulled out her blades and looked at Jean who stood beside her, giving him a smile that was more wicked than reassuring.
Violet was only a tad bit disappointed that she missed Levi's inspirational speech to the cadets, as the only words she was able to catch was, "Don't die on me. Survive." And then he pulled out his blades and left, making Violet follow close behind.
They landed on a rooftop, well hidden from any piercing eyes, and there they waited-- waited for the right time to strike. They just crouched there, looking at everything unfolding right before their very eyes.
The sight of war was something she never thought she'd ever see, if she dared be honest. Although, this sight was nothing new she had not seen. If anything, it was the same sight she had always seen, since very little. Born in the Underground, she was moulded to be a weapon for another's agenda, becoming the most ruthless killer that the world had ever seen. And the sights that came with it came with the same amount of gruesome bloodshed like this.
But the difference between then and now was that, even when all she knew back then was blood and ash, she still remained good. Still knew what was right from wrong.
But now in this forsaken war, sometimes she did not know who was the villain or the hero from this story. Did not know who was the good guys from the bad guys. Did not know if she was the villain or the hero.
And it was all so very conflicting because, in her heart, she believed wholeheartedly that she was the hero. Everything in her believed she was the hero. Because all they had taken, all the pain and destruction they caused, was uncalled for. Not when they had not done a single thing to those in Marley.
But now, present here in this war, something in her truly wondered whether she was in the right. Whether she could be selfish and say she was the hero, when in another perspective, they were the aggressors. Especially now.
But who knew, really? And it was not like she cared much. She was in the right, they were in the right. And Eren's plan, what she knew was bound to happen, was the right call.
So even when hearing the Beast Titan talk with his mates, how they planned to take them all down, she swallowed down her fury to keep a clear mind. It was not yet the time to unleash the ruckus inside of her.
"Eren Jaeger..." The Beast Titan voice echoed. "Is not my enemy. Someone else comes first. Show yourself, Levi. Violet."
It was almost showtime; and Violet's eyes burned a silver fire, a lethal smirk on her face, as she waited.
