Because I was born in this world...
How many times had Violet thought that in various different moments throughout her life? Since her early childhood, her upbringing, the trials she faced, the hardships she endured. There were no truer words to say in any said occasion than those that Eren Jaeger said.
Yet hearing him say them, in this context in time, they felt drastically different to all those time she said them to herself.
This world, this life they were granted--- it was by no means no easy feat. Not the paradise they were promised, not the wonderland they visioned in their dreams. Since the very beginning, no matter where you were born, to whom you were born, or what your status in life was, it was all the same to all regardless. This world they were born to-- it was unfair. It was cruel and vile. And yet you had to give many great sacrifices in order to make it somewhat better.
The gods know many had done so. Namely the Survey Corps.
But now Eren Jaeger, with this plan that continued to be unclear and a mystery to Violet Grey--- he was ready to sacrifice something of his own.
Yet, although she knew he was up to something that was bound to change the very core of their existence, she couldn't help but remain weary.
"Founder Ymir, lend me your power." Eren said, extending his hand.
He watched her with his green eyes intently, as the small figure got closer to the one who got a claim to her power. But instead of stopping right at him, right in front of Eren Jaeger's feet, Ymir just walked by past him, her eyes an empty void of no emotion. Of anything. And she walked soullessly to the other Jaeger. Zeke Jaeger.
That action alone made the blonde chuckle, lifting his face to Eren. "I thought as much, Eren." He sighed. "I hoped, if anyone, you would understand. Is this the result of father's brainwashing again?" He frowned at his brother, eyes shining still with betrayal. With hurt. Even as Ymir kneeled before Zeke, knees landing with a crunching sound the way a servant does before its owner.
That sight alone made Violet's stomach turn.
What had they done to her to bring her to this level of submission? How does she, a being with so much power, kneel before a weaker soul before her?
It didn't make sense. It shouldn't make sense. And it was devastating seeing Ymir be this way.
"What...does this mean?" Eren asked, shocked at the scene before him. But not with the same sort of shock that rippled through Violet.

"In the time it took for you two to wake up, I learned many things." A faint smile appeared on his lips. "The Founder can make anything, even these earthen chains." His hands went to the chains hanging on his neck and ripped them apart in a fast motion, disappearing into nothing but more sand around him. "As long as I, with royal blood, wills it." Zeke stood up and walked up to Eren and Violet, looking them down as he towered over them; a clear display of the power he now possessed thanks to Ymir. Ymir, his to command. And he knew that more than well as his smirk only grew. "Unlike the Kings of the walls, I'm here without being tainted by the First King's ideals. And in the mind-numbing time I spent with the Founder, I managed to nullify the vow renouncing war. Though possessing tremendous power, the Founder is a slave with no will of her own. She believes those with royal blood are her masters and obeys them. I've obtained the Founder's power."
"Impossible." Eren frowned.
"You were no more than the key, Eren." Zeke pointed a finger at Eren and a chain appeared on both of his hands, chaining him before his older brother. "And while I figured that out, I also found other things." He turned to Violet, his eyes piercing her own. He tilted his head as he observed her, taking in every little detail of her face. "Do you want to know why you posses such powers, Violet? What Eren did to make you this way?
Violet took a cautious step back, looking at him with wild eyes. "What?"
"You might not remember, seeing as you were so young. But don't you ever wonder why your parents didn't hesitate to sell you? To give you away when they had promised you the world?" His eyes never left hers, as if making her see what he meant through his hues. "The night prior to that, your parents had heard a sound coming from your room. As if...someone had broken in to your room. They came rushing for you, of course, but imagine their surprise when they found no one there. Just you and some weird shining creature crawling up to you. Slowly up your leg until it reached your chest.

"All they saw was a blinding white light going inside of you-- fusing with you. They couldn't understand what had just went on before their eyes, as then you stopped shining and their little lovely girl was back to normal. They didn't fear you, however. No, not one bit of fear coursed through them as they saw you. You would've thought that was what made them give you away-- but no. It was not the fear that made them give you away to the Assassin Keep. No, it was a voice. A voice telling them to take you to the Assassin Keep. That only there they would know what to do with you. Don't flatter yourself, though, Violet Grey. Because your parents would've ended up giving you away one way or the other, since they did need that money. Eren just happen to make it happen faster."
"What?" It was all she could say.
"Eren was behind that all along. He made that thing go inside of you and told your parents exactly what to do next. Do you want to know what went inside you?" He paused. "The very same thing that made Ymir the way she is. The very thing that granted Ymir her powers." He took a step towards her, that one step she had taken back. "Yet, somehow yours are different. You have similar attributes of a titan-wielder. Yet you can do more. Can create things. Fascinating, actually-- and very useful."
Violet shook her head, trying to clear her head from the shock at such revelation. "What to do you mean Eren did this?"
"Eren travelled through the paths to the very exact moment he needed to get you. All those events that went down that day, such as that creature getting inside of you, was due to him. Due to Eren. He willed all of that, manipulated your time-line to get you. He made your parent sell you to the Assassin Keep because he knew only there you would get the kind of training you would need to become a powerful weapon. To become the you you are now. It was all part of the plan. Of his plan.

"You're not the first one to whom Eren does that, though. So don't fret it too much, Violet Grey. Wasn't it for Eren, you wouldn't be as useful as you are now." Zeke mused, turning to Eren who stood still watching Violet as she heard what he had done. "But alas, I'm glad I waited to hear your true feelings, Eren. It's not your fault. You and I are tragic victims born by that vile father. But I had another father who saved me. You need somebody to save you, too." He walked up to his brother, looking at him with pitiful eyes. He made a motion as if to grab his hand, but he thought twice and only stood before him as he said, "When I save the world, it'll be with you!"
