≫ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ≪Organizing and bringing to life an office, that was never occupied before, was a harder task than Violet had thought.
She had just finished dusting the room spotlessly clean after she had scrubbed and made the wooden floor shimmer with a blinding glimmer. It had taken her long hours to bring it to the immaculate condition it currently was, longs hours of pure hard work, that regardless that she had awoken earlier than she accustomed, it still made her miss out on the most important meal of the day. Once she determined that there wasn't a speck of dust flying by, Violet then moved on to placing her books in their new home, as she picked up the first box filled to the brim with books. She opened the carton box and reached out for the first book, her hand grabbing a romance novel that she had just recently finished reading. She mainly read fantasy and romance books. Although she wasn't big about the cliques, there was just something so moving about a good love story with a heart-wrecking ending. Books felt more realistic that way, at least in the romance genre, when they didn't always end with the happily ever after. Stuff like that didn't always happen in the real world, the world being even crueller like that; she couldn't even use her hands and toes anymore to count the many tragic cases of love dying out between many used-to-be-couples that she used to know. But she still read those with the happy endings to make her heart and soul happy after weeping a river from the previous book she had devoured.
She placed the book away and as she went to grab another, there were three small knocks on her door. "Oi, Grey, open the fucking door." With a small smile stretching her lips, she went to open the door to let Captain Ackerman in. As the door swung open, she was greeted with the sight of the man frowning profusely with crossed arms. "You know, I recall telling you to call me Violet, sir." She said, leaning against the wall.
"And I recall telling you to call me, Levi, you brat."
"Yeah, yeah," She waved her arm dismissively around the air. "You may come in."Violet smirked as she saw the man come in, turning his head to observe the room she had just poured blood, sweat and tears to shape it to this pristine condition. Violet approached him from behind and said, "Soo... What do you think? I say pretty fucking amazing, am I right?"
Levi jumped startled to a side, quickly turning to glare at the girl who let a howl. "Tch, not after that, brat." A triumphant smile took over her lips, her E/C eyes gleaming as she looked at him. "Hey, I thought we agreed my name was Violet, not brat." She said, "Do I have to spell it out for you? V-I-O-L-E-T--"
"I know how to spell your fucking name. Brat just suits you better."
"It does not!" Violet growled. "Take it back, you tiny fucking midget."
Levi just raised his eyebrows, as if saying he just proved his point and continued looking around the office. As he turned to look to his left, the wall filled with bookshelf caught his eye. Levi approached the box filled with books and picked out a book, the frown on his face further deepening as he read the title of the book on his hand. "You read this shit?"
Violet's eyes widen as she saw the thing on his hand and she immediately ripped the book off his grip, a deep red blush heating up her cheeks. "D-don't touch my shit."
Levi tried his hardest to swallow his smile, biting his cheek to force his poker face to stay on his face. "I didn't see you as the kind of person to read that crap, Grey."
Violet scowled. "Mind you own fucking business then!"
Levi only slid his hands on his pockets and walked to the door, still biting the inner part of his cheek to hide his ever-growing smile. Before he closed the door behind him, he said, "Oi, hurry up, brat. You get to choose your squad today."And with that he left, leaving a blushing raging mess of a girl behind the close doors.
✥
Violet couldn't decide who to chose, as she flipped page after page filled with information about the cadets of the 103rd cadet corps. There were plenty of promising candidates as she read on through each page, but she couldn't decide who else to choose aside from the top five she had already set her eyes on.
She was yet to greet them all, not knowing a single thing about them aside from what little information there was in those sheets. She could only have eight members on her squad, the number may or may not grow as the years go by. She already had five in mind, but there two other members that she wanted on her side but she wasn't so sure whether if a certain Captain would agree to her pleas.
