In the following days, Violet had spent most of her time in Hanji's office trying to solve the huge mystery her abnormal powers were. When she was not in the confine of Hanji's four walls, she was training to get stronger and better for any given situation. She just had to feel her muscles beg for rest every single day, for her to feel as if she was getting stronger and to also get her mind off the millions of problems roaming through her mind. She was improving greatly in both her magic and training, which made her happy. Knowing she was able to control herself better, in both forms, made her happy beyond comprehension. There was just something so magical about seeing how she grew stronger, faster, wiser and better, no matter how strong she was before. There was always room for improvement, and Violet strived for the best. So they were for sure a very exhausting couple of days for the young girl.

Although progress was being made in that aspect, Captain Hanji still had no answers regarding the symbol that Violet possessed. They read every book available, even went out of their way to buy some more, but there were no answers nor clues about the symbol that would tell them were such a thing had originated from. It was upsetting for them both. Hanji was devastated they couldn't help the girl who trusted them with her abilities, feeling useless without an answer on their hands; and Violet was a mess not knowing what was going on with her and what danger that symbol meant. The only clue Hanji was able to find was that it dated back to the time where it was said humans made deals with the devils. When humans used to sell their souls to obtain some sort of power or richness they craved. The symbol was used for rituals to communicate with greater powers, whether that was Gods or Devils. People just had to draw the thing down with the very red, rich blood of their veins and rehearse a couple of words in a language long since abandoned. But that was all the information they could get, the rest of the pages ripped or in a miserable state that the words imprinted could no longer be read.

Even though Hanji believed almost in everything, anything at all, the whole Devils and Gods and favours just seemed a far stretch to them. While they believed that there were people who would do that for real, try to communicate with a greater power in hopes that the thing they desired would be exchanged for some sort of sacrifice from their part, the likelihood it was an actual thing that came true was just so absurd to think about. It just wasn't real. But judging by the time period it's described to be linked with, then it meant it was around 2,000 years ago. Or at least that's what the book said. Violet's hieroglyphic had all the characteristics that are linked to the symbols from years ago: the roundness, the weird spiral in the centre, a few arrows sticking out, even the very location where the symbol had found its home in Violet's head.

It was good news for them, as little as the information was, as it was a step in the right direction and it meant they could find out more about it. The news certainly aided in lifting Violet's spirit, a huge grin on her rosy lips ever since the news reached her ears.
It was now a day later and Violet was still in an all-mighty good spirit. Nothing seemed to cloud her mind, her smile was brighter than it ever had been while in the Scouts, her every step seemed like she danced to a non-existent rhythm and her eyes shined with a blinding light. It was weird to see her that way, considering she was always gloomy and dull, but refreshing nevertheless. Yet, still very surprising and it was all thanks to those few words that Hanji had delivered that previous day.

The sight was so bizarre to many, that even when Captain Levi Ackerman saw her in such a brilliant mood, he asked her to stop smiling because she was scaring half of the cadets away. But his words seem to enter one of Violet's ears and left from the other, as she continued smiling even brighter than before. The sight annoyed Levi the slightest bit as the girl never seemed to obey his words and did the exact opposite of what he said, which tended to get on his nerves. Surprisingly, he let it slide and just rolled his grey eyes, the small action letting the girl know she'd won this one time.
"Oi, Grey." He signalled her to come to his side, her feet moving towards him as soon as her name left his lips. A confused frowned adorned her face, the whole situation extremely weird to her as he never had her stand by his side. She was about to question him, her mouth opened wide, but she didn't have to wait long as the following words that left the Captain's mouth answered her confusion and doubt. "Listen up brats." He said, "Cadet Grey and I will be training you all today."
