Two very different people in two different locations were connected with one common thought - such is the power of love. Vetri had been sitting at the desk in his room while Malar was standing at the balcony of her house but both of them had been doing the same thing - reading and re-reading the letter in their hand. They had both lost track of time and were lost in their thoughts.
Vaarthai thevaillai, vaazhum kaalam varai,
Paavai paarvai mozhi pesumae
Netru thevaillai, naalai thevaillai
Indru intha nodi pothumae
Verindri vithaindri vinthoovum mazhai indri
Ithu enna ivan thottam poopookuthuthaeee
Vaalindri porindri valikindra yutha mindri
Ithu enna ivan anbu ennai velluthae
Idhayam muzhuthum irukum
Intha thayakam, engu kondu niruthum
Ithai ariya engu kidaikum vilakam,
Athu kidaithaal solla vendum enakum

It had become their routine to look out for each other's letter every month and the joy they experienced was enough to sustain through the next few weeks of waiting. This had been their routine for 1.5 years now and that excitement was constant. However, somehow this time, both of them had some questions in their mind - "What was this bond that they shared called?" and "How far would this go?"
Entha megam ithu enthan vaasal vanthu
Engum eera mazhai thoovuthae
Entha uravu ithu
Ethuvum puriyavillai endrapothum ithu neezhuthae
Yaarendru ariyaamal, perkooda theriyaamal
Ivalodu oru sontham uruvaanaathey
Yenendru ketkaamal, thaduthaalum nirkaamal
Ivan pogum vazhiyengum manam poguthae
Paathai mudintha piragum,
Intha ulagil payanam mudivathillaiyae
Kaatril paranthe paravai marainthu piragum
Ilai thodangum nadanam mudivathillaiyae

Vetri recalls the very first letter he had received back in November 2019. He was in his final year of university and as part of a module requirement, he had been in this penpal project. Students from universities across the country would be randomly selected as penpals and they had to write to each other. He had opened up the letter addressed to him and was stunned. How could anyone write so beautifully? He read on and by the time he came to the end of the paragraph, the only question he had in mind was what was this person's name? He remember the next few months where they had started sharing little details like their hobbies, favourites etc. Both of them were still bounded by the project rules so they didn't know each other's name except for the initials. By the time they had reached the one year mark (completion of the project), they had become great friends and had opted to continue writing. Somehow, no one asked the other about who he/she was so it had kept going that way.

His thoughts go back to the letter in his hand now and he looks at it. A smile appears on his face. Surprisingly, it was signed off as Malar. Meanwhile, Malar also had a smile on her face because the letter in her hand was signed off as Vetri. Such was the sync between the two of them.
Little did they know that God had already planned to make sure that this sync lasts for the rest of their lifetime with a sprinkle of his magic sparkles called Love!
