Vetri had been searching the cupboards in the room for an important document when he comes across an envelope. He opens it up and in it were some photographs. As he looked through them, he recalls the old memories associated with every picture.

The first picture was one that was taken during his childhood. It was one of the rare pictures that consisted of all the children (Maaran, Vetri, Pugazh, Selvi, Malar, Akila, Thenu, Idhayakani and Mayilu). It was the very last picture that they had taken before the big fight had happened. Vetri traces his finger over the picture recalling his late brother. In that picture, he was the happiest one and had been holding on to Vetri and Pugazh. Recalling those beautiful memories, Vetri smiles sadly.

His eyes search for his lady love and locates her standing behind Maaran. Even at that young age, Malar and her siblings had always been closer to the ever bubbly Maaran and Malar's hand was resting casually on Maaran's shoulder. Although it was something that Vetri had never noticed, today seeing Malar being so comfortable with Maaran made his heart ache a little.

Vetri puts that photograph aside and looks at the next one. It was a picture of the three brothers taken during a Thiruvizha. They had been dressed neatly in coloured silk shirts and had worn Veshti for the first time. Once again as Vetri notices the details in the picture, he notices a group of girls in the background. One glance was all that he needed to realise that one of the girls was Malar. Vetri puts away that picture and looks at the next one.

To his surprise, that picture was that of Vetri and Malar's wedding. Due to the circumstances that the wedding had taken place under, an official photographer was not hired. Nonetheless, someone had taken a picture. It was the first time he was seeing that photograph. Vetri once again runs his finger over the picture. Seeing the expressions on their faces, Vetri had a quick flashback of all that had happened - right from Maaran's death to the day that he had proposed to Malar.

In the first year of their marriage, Vetri had died a thousand times. There had been so many days where Malar and he would have misunderstandings especially during the initial phase. It was not entirely Malar's fault but many a times, Vetri's character was questioned. Then somewhere somehow, they had fallen in love. A small smile appears on Vetri's face. He puts this photograph aside and picks up the last one.

It was a candid picture taken during their Yercaud trip. As he stared at himself and Malar on the photograph, he could not help but notice Malar's beautiful smile. Now, there was nothing else that mattered to him except the smile on her face. Vetri knew he would do anything for that. Just as Vetri gets lost in the beautiful memories, the sound of the door jolts him from dreamland.

He turns towards the source of the noise and sees Malar glaring at him.

Malar: Mama, ethanavatti sollirukaen. Ethachum venumna ennai koopida vendiyathu thaanae? Ippadi ellathaiyum kalachu podatheenganu sollirukaenla.

Vetri smiles sheepishly.

Malar: Sirikkatheenga!

Malar starts clearing up the messy room angrily. Just then, Vetri gets an idea. He goes towards Malar and turns her towards him.

Malar: Vidunga Mama. Yerkanave kovama irukkaen. Ippo ennai imsai pannengana ungala kola panna poraen.

Vetri smiles cheekily. He then starts to sing,

Seeing Vetri's goofiness, Malar's anger disappears and she starts laughing. Soon, the room is overfilled with joy.

Sometimes when we do not get what we wish for, it just means that life has something even more beautiful to offer.
