Vetri slowly directs Malar into the house. He leads Malar to their room doorstep. He moves his hands away from Malar's eyes and she slowly opens her eyes. After a few blinks, she looks around the hall.
Malar: Everything looks the same. Just like it was before we left home this evening.
Vetri smiles.
Vetri: I did not say that I have surprises for you. What were you expecting?
Malar: Why did you cover my eyes and tell me not to question your actions today?
Vetri: I was just playing with you.
Malar's face turns gloomy.

She turns around and pushes the bedroom door. The entire room was pitch dark. Malar heads towards the light switch and tries to switch it on. However, the room lights do not turn on. Malar tries a few times but nothing happens. Frustrated, she turns around and at that moment, the room lights up.

Malar blinks a few times and tries to register and process the sight in front of her into her memory. The entire room was lighted up with fairy lights. Vetri had been leaning against the door frame observing Malar's reactions. It took a while for Malar to realise that Vetri had planned this surprise for her. Since young, Malar had always liked fairy lights and had always dreamt of decorating her room with it. However, nothing had materialised. Today, without her saying anything, Vetri had made one of her small dreams come true.
Malar searches for Vetri and sees him at the door.
Malar: Did you do this all by yourself? I was at home all day but i did not see this.
Vetri: Sshhh. I am still not done.
Malar: What?

Vetri holds Malar's hand and leads her to their bed. He makes her sit and sits beside her. Holding her hand, Vetri speaks.
Vetri: Malar, you mean the world to me. And I have something for you.
Vetri takes a pouch from under his pillow. He passes it to Malar.
Malar: What is this?
Vetri: Open it up yourself.
Malar opens the pouch and in it were two gold bangles. Malar takes them out and holds it in her hands. The moment she looked at it, she knew that the bangles were something special. She looks into Vetri's eyes.
Vetri: These were Ammachi's bangles. She gave them to me the night before she passed away and told me to give it to my future wife. Today, I have finally fulfilled her wish.
Malar's eyes glisten with tears.

The two of them hold hands and together they touch Malar's baby bump.
Vetri and Malar: Happy New Year Baby!
Vetri and Malar then look at each other and smile.
