Vetri had been trying to get Malar's attention but she was completely ignoring him. Left with no choice, Vetri sits on the bed and looks at Malar who had been moving around the room doing her work. Malar turns and sees Vetri sitting on the bed with a sulky face. She smiles to herself knowing exactly why Vetri was trying to get her attention. She knew that if she gave attention to Vetri, the entire situation would be very different.

Malar continues to do her work. Vetri notices Malar picking up the laundry basket and has a smile on his face. Earlier on, Malar had mentioned that she would need to wash the bedsheet. Now that he was seated on the bed, he knew that she would have to come and speak to him. Malar also thinks about the same. She sees a smirk on Vetri's face and decides to tease him. She puts back the laundry basket and looks into Vetri's eyes. She takes small steps towards him. Vetri who had been expecting this, waits eagerly.

Nagila nagila nagila o o o (My happiness)

Malar comes close to Vetri but before he could hold her hand, she takes the blankets and moves away. She turns back and smiles victoriously at Vetri. It was only then that Vetri realises that Malar had just teased him and stands up.

Malar: Mama, did you think I would convince you to move so that I can take the bedsheet? I can wash that later. Besides there won't be enough space to dry the bedsheets.

Vetri looks at Malar who gives him a huge smile.

Vetri: Malar!

Anticipating Vetri's response, Malar picks up the laundry basket quickly and runs out of the room laughing.

Vetri follows behind while asking her to stop. However, Malar ignores Vetri and goes to the backyard as quick as possible. She places the laundry basket down. Vetri comes to the backyard and sees Malar standing there with her hands crossed.
