It was almost dusk. Malar and Vetri were at the beach near Aishwarya's house. They had come together to attend the wedding and had been at her house for three days now.

Malar stands up and attempts to leave but Vetri holds on to her hand.
Malar: Mama, I need to head back. Everyone, especially Aishwarya would be looking for me.
Vetri: Malar, it's been barely five minutes since we managed to sneak out from the house. It isn't fair to tell me that you are going back. We haven't even spoken anything.
Malar: But Mama...
Vetri: No buts. We are going to spend some time here. That's final.

Malar sits down again. She looks at Vetri who had an innocent look on his face. Malar smiles to herself. This man had not only captured her heart; he was capable of making her heart melt. She thinks of all the excuses she had to come up with just to get some time to spend with her husband. And here they were finally, after planning since morning.

Vetri holds on to Malar's hand. He knew how much of work Malar had been doing since arriving here and he felt that they did not even get some time for themselves. Hence, he had decided to bring her out for a short while. Since Aishwarya's house was very near to the beach, the two of them had chosen to come here. As Vetri plays with Malar's fingers, Malar's phone starts ringing. Malar attempts to free her hand to answer the call but Vetri refuses to let go.

Vetri shakes his head as if signalling no.
Malar: I promise i'll meet you at the balcony tonight. We can talk there.

Seeing Vetri becoming dull, Malar leans in close to him. Vetri engulfs her in a side hug.
Vetri: We haven't had time to even sit down like this since we came. I totally understand that wedding festivities can be time consuming but it's so hard to have you nearby yet be so distant.
Malar touches Vetri's cheek with her hand and looks up at him.
Malar: This time tomorrow, we would be on our way home. We will have so much time together.
Vetri: But another day like this is pure torture.

Malar gives Vetri a kiss on his cheek.
Malar: It's time for me to get back.
Vetri: Must you really go?
Malar: If you ask me like this, how can I go?
Vetri: Then don't go
Malar: Mama, please let me go.
Malar breaks away from the hug and stands up. Vetri thinks for a moment and stands up.
Nee en kanna pola irukkanum (You should be like my eyes)

Malar looks at Vetri.
Vetri: Let's head back. But on one condition.
Before Malar could even ask, he sweeps her off her feet and starts walking.
Malar: Mama...
Vetri: I'm carrying you back
Malar smiles and holds on to Vetri. The two of them head back with a huge smile on their faces.
