Vetri's heart pounded faster every second. If he could, he would have already made his way out but with so many people surrounding him, there was no way he could sneak out without anyone realizing that he was missing. To calm himself, he glances around and looks at his brother who gives him a reassuring smile.

The door opens and for a moment, Vetri forgets to breathe. All he had eyes for was his fiancé Malar. She was always beautiful but today, Vetri couldn't find a word to describe how beautiful she was. Stunning was an understatement.

Malar's eyes sweep the room and come to a stop when she notices Vetri. He was charming as always and when their eyes met, butterflies flew in her tummy. Malar had always been someone with a very different personality. She would easily face the biggest hurdle eye to eye but today, to look directly into Vetri's eyes was a task. Some sort of shyness was overpowering her - truly the power of love.

With every step that she took, it was finally sinking in that they were just minutes away from their life changing moment.

Flashes of the time they had spent during their initial friendship stage and their cute banters cross their minds. Vetri usually spoke minimal and his eyes would usually do more of the talking while Malar was always the expressive one. The list could keep going on. In summary, they were perfectly balanced, right from the very beginning.

And then there was a phase when both of them knew it was something beyond friendship and wanted this bond to last for as long as they live. Everything about the other would seem extra special. They were truly love struck and every day was magical as long as they were together. Malar felt safe and secure with Vetri just like she was with her father and that was really the sign universe gave her, to treasure this man throughout her life for he was a gem! Likewise, the way Malar cared for him, Vetri knew that she was the one. And in the past two years, there hadn't been a day that he thought otherwise.

And then here they were. As he stretched out his hand and she placed her palm on his, big smiles appeared on both their faces.

This was just the beginning of a lifetime of togetherness and joy. As they exchanged rings and said their vows, they knew that to have someone who loved them unconditionally through all the ups and downs, they were indeed blessed!

~ Sometimes it does not have to be someone from the opposite gender. Anyone who genuinely cares for you through all the ups and downs is your soul mate. To have one such person, it is a big blessing. To have a few of them, you need to remember that you definitely are one of God's favorite children! For he has given you his angels in the form of these soul mates!
